Guess what? Not only are we in a Winter Storm Warning, we are now in an Ice Storm Warning too. It is gonna get really bad here starting tomorrow... of course it is snowing like crazy now. We were already out in it because we had to bring Juliana to the doctors. She was complaining last night that her ear hurt- what did we find? An ear infection and strep throat. Very weird... last night was the first time she complained of anything. Oh well, more antibiotics for her. :sad2:

Ugh! That seems to be the law in our house: the kids only get sick on weekends or when it's otherwise impossible to see the doctor. :sad2:

Oh yes I will be...poolside with the sun shining on my face and 81 degree temps...

Jealous anyone??

Seriously, all my Dis friends, please be careful and stay safe...dont go out there unless you have to!
OK... now there is a Red Sox fan rubbing in 81 degrees while I stare outside at the snow, sleet, and freezing rain falling. :headache::headache:

I am jealous... I wish I was there with you!

I agree with that... when Juliana was going through treatment we had to bring her to the hospital anytime she had a fever over 101. Wouldn't you know, this usually happened between 12-5am. 30 minute drive to the hospital, 6 hours in the ER... man, I don't miss those days. :sad2:

Ugh. That sounds awful. And those ER co-pays add up a lot quicker than the pediatrician, too!

I'm sitting here in a balmy 50 degrees- sunny skies, right here by my woodstove, with my kids cleaning the bathroom and making bread. It wasn't long ago, Tim, we'd have been doing what you are: dealing with yet another ear infection, strep, whatever. Hang in there! She'll be all grown up far too quickly, and you'll suddenly wonder if you'll ever need to paint the walls again for lack of fingerprints.

So how much snow now??

Kathy, keep those updates coming! It'll take your mind off how crappy your weather really is. i hear most flights out of Chicaghy are cancelled as of this morning!

Woops... sorry 'bout that!

Awww thanks! I have a nice voice though, right? :lmao:

:lmao::lmao::lmao: :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Aw...sorry for you guys! Max had an ear infection not too long ago...no fun.

Um...YES! Just not fair, Nic...no fair at all. :sad2:

I have my Bailey's for my coffee. :woohoo::woohoo:

Mark left work at 3 p.m. and finally reached the train station to get me at 5:45; we literally walked in the house five minutes ago. So far, the power has flicked off and on twice. It's going to be a VERY LONG night.

Enjoy the coffee, Kathy! :goodvibes

Oh believe me, I will.

Can you believe that Mark's office is closed tomorrow, but ours is NOT. Well, too bad office--I will NOT be there. Maybe they'll fire me and I can move to Florida. :rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Wow Kathy. That is one crazy story about the tires. I can't believe that man put four new tires on the car. Amazing! I hope the kids had a good meet!

I have been thinking of all of our northern DIS friends as I have been seeing the mess they are showing on The Weather Channel. I hope you all can stay safe and sound and warm! It'll just be rain/storms for us down here, but the cold is coming behind it. This will be a very welcomed spring - when it gets here.

What a great story about the tires!! Hope you enjoy your snow day tomorrow-stay inside!!

Kathy happy to hear you and Mark made it home safe. Stay safe and warm...

Thanks, Connie.

They had a couple of second place and third places at the Conference; they have this week off and then the next week is their District competition before State.

I can't wait for spring, and we've been lucky up until today with the snow (although it's been really cold for quite some time).

Thanks, Mary. The streets are awful (we were supposed to go to the Post Office to pick up a package that they didn't leave on Saturday and there was no way we were driving the four blocks to get there.

Here are a few "pre-blizzard" pictures (I say pre-blizzard because they said the real stuff starts at 9 p.m. with about three inches per hours. :scared1:

This was when I opened the patio door and quickly took a picture:

I'll post more tomorrow with the full effects of what we end up with.

For all of you in the path of this storm, please be safe.

Beautiful pictures Kathy!!!! We have seen that a LOT this year! :rotfl2:

I'll have some shiny icy pictures for you tomorrow too. :goodvibes

Can't wait to see them! :)

Would you believe, we JUST got an emergency phone call from our office that we would be closed tomorrow due to limited transportation otpions. Gee, you think? They closed the escalators at the train stations five minutes after I departed because of the amount of people trying to get a train home.

At least you don't have to worry about calling out tomorrow... now you and Mark can have a snow day together! :goodvibes

Uh-oh, I hope you have some emergency flashlights just in case. I was going to say I don't know if I should be rooting for them to fire you so you could move to FL quicker or not. You're too nice a person to be wishing to be fired so I was torn on that. :) But I am glad to hear that they finally woke up and realized they couldn't have people out in that storm. Yeesh, that storm is looking pretty bad for the pre-blizzard part, I'm scared to see the blizzard side of it. :scared1:

Flashlights out; candles burnning.

They wouldn't fire me; I've been with my same boss for 35 years and he would NOT let them fire me.

I'm scared to death too...the power has gone out five more times in the last hour.

Kathy Be safe- candles, flashlights and cookies and maybe and adult beverage or two.

Good thing you don't have to go out- try to enjoy the snow day errr blizzard day- Hoping the power stays on.

Blessthe man who put tires on the car. He obviously thinks highly of Markie and you should be proud of your son.
