Lisa, I have to agree with you. Be sure to tell Judy if you talk to her...I know she'll want to know.

wow what a nice gift! I would probably run all the numbers to see what works out better with the dining, etc. then decide....CSR will always be there, but the opportunity to have extra time at AKL might not come again.

I have to put all the numbers together and then we have to be sure rooms are available.

Good luck figuring out the numbers....I just changed our resort from Pop Century to POFQ in Oct, wasn't much more $$ plus get the fridge and coffeemaker in the room, bonus for me....sshh, I'm surprising Megan with the switch!

The numbers are giving me a headache this morning. A final decision won't be made until tomorrow as the friend is busy with work today and he has to call and see if there is availability in a studio. If we paid for a room for two nights, the room for those two nights would be $668. They have no discounted rooms left. And that is not happening.

If the math makes sense, I would stay at AKL the whole week too. But if it doesn't or it is too much stress to change everything, then I would leave it the way it is. Good luck deciding!

I wish I had words of wisdom regarding what to do with your stay... but.. as you know I am not help even to myself.

AKL looks very appealing... and if you have an opportunity that you wouldn't necessarily have in the future.. then I think that would weigh on my decision.

Can't wait to hear what you decide.

And.. on the pics that MaryAz posted... great.. now I am thinking if I should switch to AKL.

I think it would make sense too. But not if I have to pay over $600 for two nights in a room. We'll see how it plays out.

Me, a troublemaker-never!!! I AKV. Thats why we bought DVC there. Animals never get old. We have stayed at 6 different resorts and hands down AKV is my favorite. That being said-would I pay $668 for 2 nights there -NO WAY. There are much better things at Disney to spend my dollars on. I do hope the points go through so you can spend the week there but if not you will be right at home at CSR. Can't wait to hear what happens.

Well, the numbers have been crunched, dining plan debated over and over again, etc., and a BIG SURPRISE will be coming up in my update. Will they stay all six nights at the AKL? Will they keep the original plans? Or has a new resort come into the picture? I'll be back later and let you all know.

I think Brook was saying that for DVC they are charging like $39.99 a day for dining, but it might be slightly less. For us, it would come down to cost. If it was going to be close or only $100 more to stay at AKL, we would, but if the price difference was pretty drastic, I would keep what you have.
I am like you too. I really like Pop and it's hard to go down and not stay there at least one night. This trip I won't be, but we are touring it one day, so I can get my fill. You could always scehdule a day with lunch there and just walk around a bit and get your fill. I am not always good with change, but sometimes after I do change, I think why didn't I do this before? Of course other times I kick myself for changing it up. LOL!
