Hope you have a snack next to you right now! :lmao::lmao:

Thats IT! :rotfl: I am definitely gonna go nuts waiting to make an ADR for breakfast at Kona. All those pics look sooooo yummy.

Even though we still have plenty of time before we make our ADR's, I like to have a good idea of what I am going to book. I am really struggling with it this time as we want to try new places, but also go back to some old places.

The first two days of our stay we will not be on the dining plan and will pay out of pocket. These are our plans for our first two nights:

Friday, September 23 -- we will eat at Emeril's at CityWalk by Universal
Saturday, September 24 -- we will have breakfast at Boma and a late lunch at Earl of Sandwich (Earl is a new place for us)

That leaves us Sunday - Wednesday for the dining plan giving us four table service places.

We HAVE to do Crystal Palace for breakfast (I MUST have my Puffed French Toast)

We always do The Plaza as our last meal of our trip, but I'm not sure we'll be at the MK on our last day (I've not made our plans for what parks what days as of yet). We would pay out of pocket for Plaza

So, that leaves us 3 table service meals

We want to try Kona for breakfast, Via Napoli, Captain's Grill, Ohana (for dinner...don't like Stitch so we won't do breakfast), possibly Tusker House for the Nemo seating and Wolfgang Puck Express. We'd also like to go back to either Mama Melrose or 50's Prime Time and possibly LeCellier.

Please let me know which one(s) you prefer and why. Thanks. :goodvibes

Kona for Breakfast is a great choice, as its so yummy there and the lilikoi juice is soooo good :teeth:

Ohana dinner is great, great meat choices and they come round alot to refill you with that. The veggies are good too, just make sure the noodles are not brought out too early otherwise it goes cold by the time your meat gets there.

Le Cellier I would do for lunch as its a 2TS for dinner now and 1TS for lunch.

Via Napoli I have not tried, but have heard rave reviews and will defo be trying it this year, so thats another one I'm voting for for you too :teeth:

Ohana (for dinner...don't like Stitch so we won't do breakfast) LOVED the dinner

Tusker House for the Nemo seating- this was just ok to me but I'm not a big buffet person. For a buffet, it's quite good.

We'd also like to go back to either Mama Melrose or 50's Prime Time and possibly LeCellier. We love PTC but I've not been to the others. The Tuna Noodle casserole at PTC is something else! YUM!

Thanks, Cythnia. That Tuna Noodle Casserole sounds interesting; another vote for Ohana...that seems to be a popular one.

Ok just got caught up on reading. One thing that is enjoyable reading about how folks try and plan to hook up while on vacation, that sounds so exciting to do! Im enjoying the dining reviews as well as I am still undecided on a few dining options for this year's trip. And oh yea....Bears fans stand up!! Lets go Bears!!!!

We did a couple of DIS meets last trip and we had a blast (and as you saw from the beginning of the report, we are hooking up with two of our favorites again this year :cutie:)

I'm hoping to get to Universal for a day on our trip, I really want to try one of the restaurants on City Walk, they all look so good!
You're going to LOVE EoS, it's amazing!!!

I haven't been to Kona for breakfast, but I really want to, I have to try that Tonga Toast, or those macadamia pancakes, so you should definitely go there, I've heard it's great!

Captain's Grille is very good, I don't think enough people go there!

Ohana dinner is fantastic, but a lot of people complain about the service, which I thought was pretty good, so I don't get it! :confused3 The bread pudding is the BEST dessert I've ever had in my life. Better than the chocolate moose at Le Cellier!

Le Cellier is amazing, which I'm sure you know!!! :thumbsup2 I don't know what we are going to do now that dinner is 2 TS credits. :sad1: I'm assuming Brandon will want to eat there twice, so I'm thinking us one credit for lunch and then pay OOP for dinner one night.

Oh, and I cannot wait to try Via Napoli, that is definitely at the top of my list for must do restaurants!

Thanks for all the info. I'm not even sure why I thought of Captain's Grille, but I know I've seen it in a few reports lately.

Just thought I'd share these pictures from our Mother's Day Kona breakfast for those of you who have never been.

The Big Kahuna.

Steak and eggs. My son insisted I take a bite of the steak, and it was so good!

AKLMay2010469.jpg

That Big Kahuna is definitely calling Mark's name!!!

Good, I am glad that I helped even a wee bit.

Even at dinner though, Ohana is family style.. Just in case you didn't know. ;)

Yes, I know dinner is family style, but at least it is food I'll eat (don't like scrambled eggs or sausage for breakfast). :)

Wish I could be more helpful, but we aren't trying a lot of these places until next month. We ate at 50's Primetime last year and didn't really like it. I am very much looking forward to trying Ohana's and Via Napoli...oh, and Le Cellier, too! :goodvibes

I can't believe your trip is almost here. :goodvibes

Hi Kathy, wow I go to Disneyland for a few days and come home to find your ptr pages long!

Happy late birthday to Mark and I loved the pictures of Markie's coaching. You must be so proud, what a great young man you have raised.:thumbsup2 Two of them actually!

Your two days at AKL sound heavenly.

For what its worth, we love Ohana for dinner. We've never had a bad dinner there although after a few lapu lapu's they might be serving us spam for all we know!

How was Disnelyand?

I will pass on your wishes to Mark. We are very proud of Markie. I found out that the team had a winning season for the first time in 23 years!!!

Ohana looks as if it will be a keeper.

Since we are posting Kona pics, here are a few more....

Thankfully, I was asleep when you posted these pictures, Tim. And the heck with Mark...I want the Mickey pancake. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Thats IT! :rotfl: I am definitely gonna go nuts waiting to make an ADR for breakfast at Kona. All those pics look sooooo yummy.

I've decided Kona is a definite keeper and we will pay out of pocket for it.

Kona for Breakfast is a great choice, as its so yummy there and the lilikoi juice is soooo good :teeth:

Via Napoli I have not tried, but have heard rave reviews and will defo be trying it this year, so thats another one I'm voting for for you too :teeth:

Yes, that is the thing with LeCellier. I'm afraid it is going to be very hard to get lunch since it is a 1TS as opposed to 2 for dinner.

Hi, Rosie. Glad you stopped by to say hi. Marv has been unusually quiet. :confused3:confused3
Sheesh, I catch flack for not getting any updates done on my TR because I'm spending so much time on everyone else's threads, so I spend some time getting out updates on my TR and then I catch flack for not being around to comment to everyone else!!! You can't have it both ways you know! Only so many hours in a day!!! ;)
Even though we still have plenty of time before we make our ADR's, I like to have a good idea of what I am going to book. I am really struggling with it this time as we want to try new places, but also go back to some old places.
I'm with you there! Same dilemna for our upcoming trip in June. I had to try and loosely figure out an itinerary and then quickly made way too many ADRs to make sure we are covered when I firm up the plans. It is a tough juggling act!
We HAVE to do Crystal Palace for breakfast (I MUST have my Puffed French Toast) :thumbsup2 on this one......but how did I miss the Puffed French Toast??? :confused3 This is one of the ADRs I booked, so need to put that on the must eat list...

Kona for dinner we really enjoyed, but never done breakfast. Never done Ohana for dinner, but love the breakfast! One of the family's favorites! Characters are no biggie to us, but the food and the JUICE are super! It sounds like the juice is possibly the same at Kona and Boma, so we might have a different opinion after we try those. Started to do Kona our final breakfast on our recent trip, but had too many QS credits left and used them up at Mara. Done Tusker for breakfast and LOVE 50's Prime Time! Just remember LeCellier will be 2 TS at dinner now, so plan accordingly!

Please let me know which one(s) you prefer and why. Thanks. :goodvibes
I always wanted to try Boma but we haven't yet. Earl is so good and the prices are reasonable too.

Mama Melrose was good when we ate there in December. I'd go back. :rolleyes1
Have wanted to try Earl, but never have worked it into our plans. Sounds good and a bargain! Haven't tried MM either. This past trip was the first time I actually remember noticing it while walking around the park.
Liesa, no apologies necessary (I'm behind too, and just posted to your last two updates).
Oh sure, Liesa isn't around for a couple of days and no big deal, but let ME miss a day....... :rolleyes1

Love ya Kathy!!! Try to stay warm..... :)

WOW!! You guys are way ahead of me and I go to WDW weeks before you! We have kind of the same dilemma, too many restaurants, too little time. But I really wanted to add my thoughts to your list! ;)

Emeril's - haven't been there, can't comment
Boma - for breakfast, excellent choice, yum yum food, just steer away from it for dinner! :sad2:
Earl is very yummy and such a steal - very good value for money! Tell Mark to get the breadpudding - :cloud9:

CP - we are returning there because of you - so I guess that says it all
Plaza is the same!

Kona for breakfast - yes, really good!

Via Napoli - if you remember my dining review - it is SUCH a hit! You NEED to put it on your list!

Captain's Grill - very quiet, but nice restaurant, good food and reasonable! Easy to access from Epcot

Ohana (for dinner...don't like Stitch so we won't do breakfast) has been hit or miss for us lately and I don't think we'll return any time soon. Best part of the meal for us - breadpudding and you can ask for it at Kona!

Tusker House for the Nemo seating, haven't been, haven't given it much thought, so can't comment

Wolfgang Puck Express, is the one restaurant I will not comment on as you know what we think of it!!! :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: Hm, now that I think of it, that looks like kind of a comment! ;) :rotfl2:

Mama Melrose - always loved the food and never had bad service. Once we had a server who must have been a teacher - the way she looked at us ..... :lmao:

50's Prime Time - never been :confused3

LeCellier - always a favourite for us, but remember it is going to be 2 credits for dinner come March!

Did I help, guess not! Now let me throw in a few other suggestions ....... Yak & Yeti ;), Kouzzina and I really second Nicki's suggestion of The Wave. May I throw the Grand Floridian Cafe in as well? :goodvibes

Okay, I better stop or you won't talk to me any more!

YAY! I get to tell you two what to do! :lovestruc

My thoughts are this...go do Kona for breakfast cuz its da bomb, go to Via Napoli for lunch because if Todd can eat there three times in one trip it got to be good and for dinner I would go out of your norm and go to the Wave..it is to die for.

But if you dont like that choice go with Capts Grill...the place is very quiet and the food is excellent.

What else can I boss you around with???

XO babe

:thumbsup2 ;)

So excited (and jealous) that you are eating at Emeril's!!
When I go to the dark side some time....and rent a car :rolleyes1 I will be hitting up Emeril :thumbsup2
I loved Via Napoli....can't wait to go back in May to see my waiters ;)
Boma breakfast is my favorite! What a great way to start the day.....any day!
LC is good but too much hype IMO....I would much rather eat at Shula's if I was feeling carnivorous :goodvibes
I also enjoy 50's....good food and fun atmosphere.
I don't think I can give advice on the others.... oh except for EOS. Oh yummmm love the Hawaiian chicken bbq sandwich with the Earl Grey lemonade.
On that note I am headed out for lunch :)

Comments in red above. You will LOVE The Plaza. It is always our last meal of the trip. We have had everything there and have never had a bad meal (service can be a tad slow on occasion). They have the best french fries in ALL of Disney.

Oops, you did say Ohana dinner, didn't you? Well, we've had Ohana dinner every single trip too, it's our traditional 1st night meal! So I highly recommend it and they might have to just roll you on outta there after you eat the bread pudding dessert!

I'm really looking forward to The Plaza! I showed a pic of the mini cup of milk and tiny cookies and my DD7 said she couldn't wait to eat there just for that! The menu looks good and we're looking for a light-ish lunch since we'll be eating at the California Grill that night.:goodvibes

Ugh, all those Kona pics are seriously making me re-think one of my breakfast ADR's now. We were going to try Grand Floridian Cafe but man, I love the breakfast over at Kona. Darn, and here I thought I had all my ducks lined up in a row!

Hi Kathy,

I'm joining the party now (a little late). Just wanted to say 'Hi' first and now I'm going back to read the previous pages. You seem to be just as popular as Tim. :) But that's good, its good to have lots of friends on here. :)

Looks like you're getting skads of great advice on your dining possibilities! Makes my plain tuna sandwich look like a pathetic second to all the choices you have for your next tripperoo!!!

I'm here!

ETA:
Jeez! I just noticed I didn't chime in until page 16! How did I NOT know you started this?

Sheesh, I catch flack for not getting any updates done on my TR because I'm spending so much time on everyone else's threads, so I spend some time getting out updates on my TR and then I catch flack for not being around to comment to everyone else!!!

Marv, we love you so much that we want you everywhere at once.

You can't have it both ways you know! Only so many hours in a day!!!
Haven't you heard of multi-tasking? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Have wanted to try Earl, but never have worked it into our plans. Sounds good and a bargain! Haven't tried MM either. This past trip was the first time I actually remember noticing it while walking around the park.
Oh sure, Liesa isn't around for a couple of days and no big deal, but let ME miss a day....... :rolleyes1

Us girls stick together. :)

Love ya Kathy!!! Try to stay warm.....

Love you too, sweetie. And it is freezing here! I hope the gym is warm tonight...going to thelocal high school to watch wrestling.

:thumbsup2 ;)

Great, throw more options out there!!! I don't think Mark would like Kouzzina (I'll pull up the menu for him tonight). I forgot all about Grand Floridian Cafe.

So excited (and jealous) that you are eating at Emeril's!!

Tracy, that Hawaiian chicken sandwich sounds heavenly. All I had for lunch was soup (to fight off the chill in my bones from being outside).

Oops, you did say Ohana dinner, didn't you? Well, we've had Ohana dinner every single trip too, it's our traditional 1st night meal! So I highly recommend it and they might have to just roll you on outta there after you eat the bread pudding dessert!

Molly, I don't do bread pudding, but Mark does so I'll be sure to tell him to try it if we end up with Ohana.

Yeah, those pictures from Kona really did it to a lot of people.

Hi Kathy,

I'm joining the party now (a little late). Just wanted to say 'Hi' first and now I'm going back to read the previous pages. You seem to be just as popular as Tim. :) But that's good, its good to have lots of friends on here.

:rotfl:

So you guys gave me quite a few laughs and I now have the urge to make breakfast. LOL!

:welcome::welcome: So glad to have another Tim basher...I mean lover...in the house. :)

Looks like you're getting skads of great advice on your dining possibilities! Makes my plain tuna sandwich look like a pathetic second to all the choices you have for your next tripperoo!!!

Liesa, I'm getting lots of good thoughts on restaurants I mentioned and some additional ones. I'll have to narrow it down in the next couple of weeks and then do a poll to pick the final three or four.

I'm here! ETA:
Jeez! I just noticed I didn't chime in until page 16! How did I NOT know you started this?

Hi, Ali. I'm so happy you are here!!! :goodvibes

I think I mentioned it earlier in your TR that I had started, but I think you missed the notice. But you are here now and that is all that counts.

Hey Kathy! Hope you had a good time watching wrestling tonight!!! :thumbsup2

It was great! The high school team is undefeated in their conference and should walk away with their 14th consecutive Conference Championship.

You have some good choices to pick from. I haven't tried many of them but I would love to try them all too. We did try Ohana last year and loved it.

We are trying Kona breakfast this year and I can't wait. We are also trying the Plaza based on your statement that they have the best fries in the world. I was going back and forth between Plaza and LTT and I chose the Plaza b/c of your praise. It better be good!

Great, throw more options out there!!! I don't think Mark would like Kouzzina (I'll pull up the menu for him tonight). I forgot all about Grand Floridian Cafe.

I am SO sorry, Kathy! :guilty: But I want you to have one of your best experiences ever and food plays a HUGE part in all our lifes! ;)

If you need some more suggestions, just let me know! :flower3:

Kathy great choices !!I LOVE Boma for breakfast, used to pay oop , but I see the price went UP!!!!I am working on planning 2 trips again !!August is shaping up and in less than a month I can make my ressies:banana::banana:

Molly, I don't do bread pudding, but Mark does so I'll be sure to tell him to try it if we end up with Ohana.

Yeah, those pictures from Kona really did it to a lot of people.

:welcome::welcome: So glad to have another Tim basher...I mean lover...in the house. :)

Oh Kathy, you don't know what you're missing! Picture it...warm bread pudding with a small mountain of vanilla ice cream. Then a steady stream of warm caramel goodness is poured on top. What's not to love? I wonder though if you could request a different dessert, perhaps from Kona Cafe instead?

And speaking of Kona, I switched my ADR for breakfast there last night! When I told DH, he said he thought we were eating there already. Great, would've been nice if he'd given me that valuable info. previously! I had no idea but apparently this is his favorite breakfast place.:confused3 I'm not a mind reader, speak up boy!:headache:

:lmao:Love your Tim comment too. I wonder if he knows he's being abused on more than just his TR??:rolleyes1:goodvibes

Lots of good advice here.

Since I have eaten at the Captain's grille- It is a nice quiet place. We had a great meal and great service. I think many people forget about this place.

If you are looking for a meal to " get away" from the hustle and bustle thisis it.
