Me and my DW live about 2 hours away from the real Saratoga Springs and really never go there. i was wondering if anyone else from the Cap. Dist. in New York thinks about staying in SSR.

Well, we used to live in Montana, loved to visit Yellowstone and that's the reason we bought VWL points. And we currently live in Louisiana and enjoyed our stay a few years ago at POFQ.

So I don't think it's so bad for someone who lives in an area that provides the theming for a WDW resort to enjoy visiting that resort.

Funny you should ask. I too live about 2 hours from Saratoga Springs and just last week had a business meeting there and roamed around for the first time. We went to the race track late one afternoon and as I walked around I thought that the Disney captured it perfectly as I have stayed at SSR a couple of years ago. I haven't met a DVC I didn't like.
