SSR walking to DTD

When you walk from SSR to Downtown Disney do you have to get through any type of security or key carded gate?

I know the logistics would be impossible, but I kinda' wish there were some security checks between DTD and SSR!

If you walk back from West Side/Pleasure Island (via the golf course) late at night, a Disney security guard in a golf cart does stop you and ask for your room key.

This was LATE at night though (after 2 a.m.) in June. I was glad they were checking!

We went that way also and were stopped. It was only midnight though and the security guard scared the ......out of us. He was standing in a "shadow" and were were looking at the golf and talking about how odd it was being parked where it was. He didn't mean to we were just focused on the cart and didn't notice him. It was kind of funny after we realized what was taking place.

I am sure glad they have them posted there anyway. Even after our hair raising event.
