HI all, we have an upcoming trip and have the option to stay at either Saratoga Springs or the Swan/Dolphin. Besides the obvious facts of location between the 2, what are the pros and cons for each? It would be a studio for SSR we know that. Thanks in advance

And if you are driving there will be a parking charge.

Advantage to Swan/Dolphin goes to location, location, location. Can't be beat, walking distance to two parks. Great restaurants as well.

SSR - community hall, boats to Disney Springs, spa, and 3 feature pools/1 quiet pool, access to laundry facilities.

I checked and a standard room at S&D is 360 sq ft and SSR is 355, no big difference, but SSR is going to have the kitchenette and the balcony - which we love to sit out on in the morning to have our coffee

The balcony is a good selling point. We do the same thing every morning. I didn't even think about that. :)

DVC membership card gets you 20% discount at the Swan & Dolphin restaurants. Believe there are several DS discounts for the many new restaurants there as well, so probably no real advantage or disadvantage to either. But some of those new eating places look really, really good.

After spending some time walking around DS on 9/30 (and still didn't see everything new), I'd opt for SSR. So much to do there & SSR is beautiful. Plus it's a lot more comfortable to sit on a sofa than a bed if you will be spending any time in the room not sleeping. :)

They do charge tax on the resort fee and parking fee at the Swan. So it becomes more than $25 for the resort fee and $20 to park. You don't have reentry privileges with parking. You leave and reenter and you pay again.

Swan/Dolphin are nice resorts, generally better beds than Disney and nice dining options as well as a short walk or boat ride to both Epcot and DHS. But, resort fee and parking fee on top of the room price. And no ME if you don't have a car so you have to get transportation to the resort.

SSR - easy access to DS and dining, entertainment and shopping there. Multiple feature pools. ME and no extra charges. Easy bus service to all parks with its central location. And the studio gives a sitting area and kitchenette.

No re entry when staying there? That's different than when I last had a car there. If your not staying there I could see that being the case.

No, you have reentry if you are a guest. you can come and go as often as you want at the Swan/Dolphin parking lots.

Swan/Dolphin pros -- Beds... DRAMATICALLY better. Interior corridors. Rewards program that you can use for free stays if you work it right, Location, walking difference to two resorts. Cost. Generally I pay half of what Disney wants for a "deluxe" (even after the parking fee and resort fee)

SSR pros. Location. If you like Disney Springs it's great. Access to DME. Microwave in room (Swan/Dolphin only have fridge)
