Need help deciding between SSR or AKV since our first choice of BWV became unavailable at the last second. We were primarily wanting to stay at BWV for its location. We will be renting points, staying in a 1 bedroom villa and traveling with myself, DH, DD 3, DS 5 months and my dad, March 28-31. We will be doing all 4 parks but my dad won't and we will have a car so won't need to take the buses. We have stayed at AKV before in Jambo house & really enjoyed it but felt a bit isolated. If we stay there this time it would be Kidani Village. Have never stayed at or stepped foot at SSR. I never really considered staying here as it seems to be portrayed as the least popular DVC resort but after looking into it I think it looks quite nice so would love to hear others opinions, especially if you have stayed at both. The proximity to Disney Springs is a big plus since we were really looking forward to being on the Boardwalk. How easy is it to get to Disney Springs in comparison to staying at BWV and walking out onto the Boardwalk? Is there more to do for my dad at one vs the other since he will be spending a lot of time there? We love the pools & splash/play area at AKV, how does SSR compare, especially for DD? Thanks!

Disney Springs is an easy five minute walk from SSR's Congress Park. They have added a bridge from SSR that exits right near the Rain Forest Cafe. You can take an internal bus to Congress Park from any of the other sections. Or you can take boats either from the dock behind the Carriage House to DS. Or from the dock on the Congress Park bridge to the West Side.

I like both resorts, but I think your young children would enjoy watching the animals at Kidani Village more than shopping and dining at Disney Springs. However, your dad might like walking around DS.
