I'm guessing that a bus should not be counted on to get to Epcot by 8:00 a.m. for the 8:15 Segway tour? Anyone have any ideas? I think that a taxi would be the most reliable unless they can tell me differently when we check in at SSR the afternoon before.
Has anyone had any experience with early transportation?

We just returned from SSR on 11/19 and did the 11/15 Segway tour at 9:30am. I was concerned about bus transportation too but it didn't turn out to be a problem. I asked the bus driver what time the busses started running to Epcot and I'm pretty sure that he said 7:30am. You might be able to call to doublecheck that. It's about a 10-12 minute ride to Epcot. Once you get there, go to the gate with the sign for the Princess breakfast (I think on the far right?) - they'll have your name listed for the Segway tour and let you through the gate early. You'll love the Segway - my DH and I thought it was the very best thing we've done in over 25 trips to the World!

Have a magical trip! :flower1:

Thanks Patricia! I appreciate the information. BTW, Rome NY! I used to live in Holland Patent (between Rome and Utica) for a year in the 4th grade. Loved the area!

Our experience: We did the early Segway tour in October (stayed at OKW). We were told to meet at GR at 8:15 for the 8:30 tour. The busses are supposed to start running around 7:00AM for Character breakfasts, etc. We were told to allow an hour "just in case". We got to the bus stop around 7:15-7:20. We waited over 45 minutes and watched 2 and 3 busses for other parks go by before an Epcot bus finally showed up. Needless to say I was a littled stressed. :earseek:

Ultimately, we made it to our tour (got there about 8:25) and had a great time. Of course, we never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus the rest of our trip.

In retrospect, we should have walked/bussed to the HH (we were in the South Point area) and got on an Epcot bus from there. That way, we could have asked a CM when the bus did not show up as scheduled.

BTW - the Segway tour is awesome, you will have a blast!

I don't mean to go "off topic" but by any chance, was your father stationed at Griffis Air Force base when you lived in Holland Patent? I grew up about a mile from their main gate! What a small world!

No, my father had just retired from the Marine Corps and had gotten a job with Singer (in Rome I believe). We rented a 60 acre farm; I was in heaven! No poisonous snakes, clean streams, woods with no underbrush- heaven for a kid! I have numerous great memories of the year we lived there.
