SSR Spa- What have you tried and loved or not loved?

DW and I each had a hydrotherapy massage last year, and thought that they weren't worth the money. I know you're supposed to get a deeper massage that way, but we thought it was just the oppsite. FWIW, we'd each had this kind of massage elsewhere, and didn't care for it that time either. But since SSR features this kind of massage, we thought we'd give it a shot.

But I also had a facial, and it was great!

I'm curious, what exactly did the hydrotherapy do? Was it just like sitting in a hot tub that had tons of jets? Thank-you for your opinion!

My girlfriend and I had the DVC member special when we were there in Feburary it was wonderful! We justified the $280.00 by adding up the guys green fees we were just about the same at least thats what we told them! The package was a massage, manicure, pedicure and facial it was a wonderful package and I thought very fair in price. Even though I was the member I was able to just put her bill on my tab to take advantage of the DVC package.

Thanks, and yes, I'll be doing that for my friend, too! I hear ya about the greens fees (DH goes on a golf trip every year with his college buddies); unfortunately, I just took up golf last year, so I can't use that justification anymore!!

Last week I booked the sensitive soother body therapy for dh and I for our trip in April as we will be in the water parks for 2 days. I have no idea what it is but it sounds nice You can definitely book more than 2 weeks out.

I have had the peppermint pedicure and it was well worth the price.
I have also had the detoxifying body treatment. STAY AWAY from this treatment. It started out nice. The tech body scrub me all over and then I was asked to shower. I then laid back down and was completly covered in a very green foul smelling stuff. It smelled seaweedy. I was then wrapped in what appeared to be tin foil and then wrapped in warm blankets. I was told by the tech to expect some bubbling as I detoxified. She then turned down the lights and left while soft music played. You are supposed to use this time to relax. Well let me tell you I immediatly started bubbling. I bubbled in EVERY possible crevice and it was LOUD. I'm sure people walking down the hallway heard me detoxing . It sounded like I was passing really loud gas......
When this was done the tech had me take another shower and lotion was spread all over my body. She then told me to drink a lot of extra water as I would continue to detox for another day or two. For 2 days and countless showers I smelled like seaweed. All I can say is I must have been full of toxen because even DD didn't want to stand by me for days. I can say that if you get this treatment the day before you fly home it will guarantee that you will have extra space on the plane as nobody will want to sit by you.
Even after all that I always get a facial every visit to disney. I occasionally get a body treatment at the GF spa. The citrus body scrub was nice and left my body very smooth and nice smelling. SSR doesn't offer this treatment. Susan
