Going to SSR in June for a few nights with a girlfriend- so we're wondering what to book at the Spa? What have you tried, and loved or not loved? TIA!:flower3:

I called them yesterday, and they said they only accept appointments up to two weeks in advance? Is that consistent with what others have heard? It'd be nice if I could get what I want calling only two weeks in advance. It's just jarring to hear in these days when we've got to book the lunch before the spa treatment six months in advance.

I LOVE their massages. The masseuses I've had have all been very nice and done a wonderful job. If there's a particular area I want worked on (like my legs and feet after a long week of walking!), the masseuse has listened carefully and done as requested.

My last trip, I got a pedicure there and did not think it was worth the extra money compared to what I pay at my local salon.

Hi! I just called them now to see what was available when we go, and while I was on the phone, asked them about only being able to book 2 weeks ahead- she said that was wrong, that I could book everything as soon as I knew what I wanted. So, I would call the spa back and get someone more knowledgable to help you!:)

Good to know! We were thinking the mani/pedis were overpriced, so thanks for the reassurance- can't wait to relax!

I try to keep my wife away from the Spa, as it gets expensive!

Two weeks ago, I dropped her off. When I came back to pick her up, the bill was over $800!

DH and I enjoyed the couple massage last october it was the standard Swediah massage but was vry relaxing, so maybe a single Swedish massage would be good?

Claire ;)

I have had the hydro massage two different times and it was WONDERFUL. I like being able to get away from the child and husband every once in awhile fro me time.:-)

I'm getting a hydro massage in May. There's at least one that comes with a DVC discount, but I'm doing "mineral water," and as it happens, there's no discount. DH is getting a swedish massage. We've never used SSR's facilities before, and we're looking forward to it!

Mike, I may have left her there!

The last time my wife and I were there, we had a couple's massage and it was fun to be in the same room during the treatment.

This is exactly why I want to choose so carefully! In this area of NJ, we go to the Short Hills Hilton for spa stuff, and I've seen it really rack up! Based on everyone's fabulous advice, I think I might do a swedish massage one day, and a hydrotherapy on another day. My friend is interested in facials and body scrubs. Of course, i am interested in them, too, but I am trying to avoid the $800 bill at the end of my stay!!!:rotfl:

 OMG, what did she have done? I hope she looked like a million bucks (or at least $800) when you picked her up! lol.

honestly though, I had a facial on my honeymoon last September in Aruba and had never had any spa treatments before in my life. Let me tell you .. it was awesome! Well worth the $60 or $80 dollars it was. I don't remember the price though ... because my husband paid for it! ;) :cloud9:

The foot and leg treatment is wonderful after a long day of walking. The
Mystical Forest Massage is great too. It's all expensive but it's all wonderful.

DH and I have a couples massage schedule in a few weeks and I was able to book it a few months ago. We had massages last year but did them seperately.

I think that the Mystical Forest Therapies looks good- I love reflexology treatments!

In Dec, my husband and I had the couples massage for our 10th anniversary. It was fun to be in the same room and was nice. Not to be a downer, but we both thought is was not one of our better massages. 'Course we both like pretty firm massages. They also didn't get us exactly (maybe even 10 minutes late?) at our start time but they did end exactly on time, so I felt a bit shorted.
On the other hand, we both loved the locker rooms and relaxed in the dry saunas, steam room and whirlpool. I would plan time after your treatment to hang out if you want to. Also, I was totally able to get ready for our date and used their hair spray, hair dryers, and mouth wash. Very nice. Overall, we both enjoyed it.
Have a great time, Marriedmyprince

My girlfriend and I had the DVC member special when we were there in Feburary it was wonderful! We justified the $280.00 by adding up the guys green fees we were just about the same  at least thats what we told them! The package was a massage, manicure, pedicure and facial it was a wonderful package and I thought very fair in price. Even though I was the member I was able to just put her bill on my tab to take advantage of the DVC package.

DW and I each had a hydrotherapy massage last year, and thought that they weren't worth the money. I know you're supposed to get a deeper massage that way, but we thought it was just the oppsite. FWIW, we'd each had this kind of massage elsewhere, and didn't care for it that time either. But since SSR features this kind of massage, we thought we'd give it a shot.

But I also had a facial, and it was great!
