At SSR now.

In Congress Park, they are working on the building on the end closest to West Side. (This is actually the very first SSR building opened.) There is a large staging area set up in the parking lot, and a lot of workers present.

At The Springs, there is also a large staging area set up (Between the 2 buildings closest together.) However no visible signs of construction. I presume this will be the next area for renovation.

I went for a look around just before Xmas. No sign of work being done when I visited, but all the equipment in the car park. Suspect this one could take the full 2 years.

If the Springs section is next, then no, if paddock section was next, it probably would not be completed.

I heard in the last few days the construction equipment moved to Springs car park- unverified but seems a good eyewitness source.

Sorry I hadn’t seen this before posting above. Seems confirmed then- Springs to start next and presumably soon.

I know everyone wants a renovated room, a given.

But both my non-renovated rooms, studios, were in excellent condition. I know this is completely opposite to what has been posted so I guess I was simply lucky. Dated of course, but great condition nonetheless.

Same here. Ours was in better condition last thanksgiving than our BWV room. And cleaner too.

Question in regards to renovations...are the 2bdrm dedicated getting the bed under the tv too and sleeping 9? I know the 2bdrm lockoffs will have them since 1bdrms are included in those...

Yes, I just had the pleasure of staying in a renovated dedicated 2 bedroom.
They sleep 9. The living room has both types of Murphy beds, including the one that pulls down over the sofa and the single under the tv.

I wanted to thank all of you on this thread for the updates. Just changed our June SSR reservation from Standard to Preferred to have a chance at a refurbished room.

They are not done with a Congress Park yet, but from reports, it sounds like pretty soon. If you have a preferred room booked, you have a chance of being in the Springs which isn’t yet renovated as well.

Thanks for the information in this thread. I just modified my August reservation to switch to SSR and I booked preferred, in the hopes that I will get a renovated room. I'm also planning on renting a car and visiting Universal for the first time, and Saratoga has the best WDW DVC location for that!

I haven't stayed at SSR yet, although I have walked around a bit on the grounds when I visited the DVC sales center. Also, I stayed there in 1996, when it was the Disney Institute.

May I ask which areas you each stayed?
Just want to see if it is a general consensus that they are keeping everything up. We are staying hopefully in Paddock this summer, even knowing that it will not be refurbished; my kids just love that area.
It always seems to me that when I have seen complaints of wear, they are generally in the Springs or the Congress Park area--I think they just get more requests/higher traffic so probably a good idea that the refurb started there first.
