Hi all! Me, DD28 and DS32 will be staying at SSR Preferred studio the beginning of May. We will be arriving very early Saturday, May 3 (taking a red-eye flight from Seattle). We will try to request a room upon arrival if possible. What building (room) should we request? I know there is an internal bus loop and the preferred rooms are the last to be picked up. Is this usually a problem? If so, is it better to walk to a different pickup location?

Any other suggestions for this resort will be very helpful!

Thanks in advance.

Congress Park.

Generally the request asks if you want to prioritize having a room ready early OR a request. So it may come down to you can get a room early in another section OR the section you request. You'd need to decide which is the more important request.

Thanks for this. Any section at SSR that I would want to avoid, if possible?

IDK. The only times I've stayed there we were booked in by my sister when she was a CM so we didn't really get to pick.

Preferred at SSR consists of two sections: Congress Park (near walkway to Disney Springs) and The Springs (closest to main pool & dining).

Rooms 4100-4400 in the Springs are the ones that are going to be closest to the main pool and lobby/QS. So, if you are a breakfast person or prefer the feature pool at a hotel, this is the ideal location. It's the last stop on the bus loop, which can stink at the end of the day, and for getting a seat sometimes, but no riding around to get on your way.

If you prefer a quiet pool and want to be closer to Disney Springs, Congress Park is the place to be. It is the second-to-last stop on the loop, so there is not as long a wait at the end of the day and a slightly better chance of getting a seat in the morning.

I recently stayed in the Springs 4100-4400 and didn't think it was noisy, though we were closer to the lake than the road. Nor did I have any problems getting a seat on the bus with two toddlers. We are not rope droppers, so it wasn't necessarily busy when we went for the bus. I liked that we were close to our room on pool day and could run right back to the room to get stuff.

We stayed Springs and loved it. I forget what number, but we liked being near the food and main pool. Really, the other pools aren't THAT far away, either. We went MLK last year though, so it wasn't hot trekking around. YMMV if it's hot. In cool weather it was lovely walking around.

We always request Congress Park, because we like being closer to DS. I also like being able to sit on the balcony at night and look at DS all lit up (when we get a room that overlooks DS).
