Thinking only of SSR's new Preferred Booking Category that spans Congress Park and The Springs -- do you have a preference for either section? Please vote now! Thx!

----
Think only of how you feel when booking SSR's Preferred Booking Category.

Assume, for this poll, that you will be booking SSR and that you are considering the Preferred view. The purpose is to see if the DVC-savvy folks here have strong individual preferences for either The Springs or Congress Park as mutually exclusive options versus "either are equally acceptable".

I am intentionally leaving out an "other" option to avoid diluting the results for reasons such as: SSR? Never! or I only intend to book standard when I book SSR.

UGH! Typos in my poll choices. The "disappointed" comments on the first two options should refer to the opposing section. If you prefer The Springs, you'd be disappointed in Congress Park; if you prefer Congress Park, you'd be disappointed in The Springs. Sorry. (Fixed it for you. Carol)

I have always preferred Congress Park, but I am unlikely to pay extra to stay there. I will go with lesser point villas if available if I ever book SSR in the future. I have no 2016 SSR stays planned. Last stay there was in December 2015,Congress Park.

You need to check your poll.
I think your poll needs rewording.
Poll says
"I strongly prefer staying CP (and would be disappointed staying CP)"
Shouldn't this be:
I strongly prefer staying CP (and would be disappointed staying in The Springs)

As for the question, I prefer CP.

Yes, I noted that in bold in the original post -- I have no way to edit the poll. :(

I'm in the camp that I would never use more points for the preferred category, but if I did, I would love to be closer to Disney Springs since we go at least once a day. I would probably be pretty ticked if I got stuck at the Springs.

I like staying at Congress Park but wouldn't use extra points for it, I'll probably request the Grandstand area next time we go instead.

I would only use extra points if I was guaranteed Congress Park. I would be highly upset if I got Springs. Not taking the chance so we will just book Grandstand and hope for the best. IF we dont get that at least I wont feel like I wasted points.

I like the Grandstand section and enjoy taking the boat to Disney Springs.

The few times we've stayed here we've been put in The Paddock section (before the pool area changes). Either Congress Park or Springs is fine with me as preferred locations and voted for that choice.

We prefer CP and would only consider using extra points if I was guaranteed CP. Looks like we will have to request Grandstand or Paddock now.

I actually prefer the Grandstand section, so the point allocation works for me. That being said, although we go to Disney Springs, we only usually go once per trip. So if I was spending the extra on points, I would want to be the closest to the main pool and food options.

I didn't vote because there wasn't a non of the above or other choices. Of the 2 I'd prefer CP but not nearly as strongly as the poll is worded. We actually prefer the Paddocks with CP being our second choice and Grandstand third. I'd prefer the savings over location other than possibly avoiding carousel.

I did book preferred for our upcoming trip. We requested The Springs section because it's close to the main pool and check-in/food. I would have no problem if I got Congress Park. We have also stayed in the Grand Stand section and was very pleased with that. We booked preferred mainly to guarantee that we wouldn't be in the Carousel section. We will always use extra points for view or convenience, but that's just us.

We generally request Paddocks near the pool. I doubt one has much risk of getting Carousel if the only request were to NOT be there. I would think it a much more than reasonable risk to get standard and either request Paddocks/Grandstand or request not to get Carousel.

A request to NOT get something is dangerous, IMO. Room Assigners in a hurry can easily overlook the "NOT" and give you the very thing you don't want! Especially since most people will request what they do want. Just sayin'. :teeth:

For example, we often hear that those who request NOT HANDICAPPED end up with those rooms and IMO, that's why.

I too am not voting because I don't know if I like or dislike the springs as I have never stayed there. But IMO there are advantages to either one that might make a member request one or the other.

I would guess, I don't know for a fact, but I would guess, that most people would request Paddock or Grand Stand when booking standard. If that's the case, logic says somebody has to get Carousel. I would rather pay a little more to know that I'm in a section that I want to be in when that's possible. Again, that's just us, but I'll happily pay for convenience or view.

That has not been my experience but if one were concerned they could just ask for Paddocks or Grandstand.

Your choice of course. It seems like a large expense for an extremely minimal risk situation. I suspect there are enough people that don't request anything that it won't be an issue but certainly someone has to get it if the resort is full enough for it to be an issue.
