Planning our first stay at SSR in Dec. and I have some newbie questions.
1.We are not DVC owners this is just the accomodation we decided on...can we expect mousekeeping while we are there? ::MinnieMo :sunny: :sunny:
2. Will we be taken to our building room by a cast member or asked to catch a bus? :moped:
3. I've read on another forum that all of the resorts are going totally NON :smokin: :: smoking. DH smokes hoping he still can step out onto the patio/balcony.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Have a Disney Day!!

If you made your reservation through CRO, you will get daily housekeeping. If you rented points, you will only get towels changed and trash removed on day 4 of a seven or fewer night stay. Eight or more nights, you get full cleaning on Day 4 and trash and towels on day 8.

Technically, you are not supposed to smoke on a balcony of a non-smoking room. But he can go downstairs and there is a nice bench with an ashtray out by the elevator where he can smoke.

I've never been escorted to our room on any of our trips, even when we stayed at a deluxe resort. We stayed at SSR in Dec on our DVC points and were given a map with directions on how to get to our room. We really like SSR. The rooms all have patios or balconies, so that was were DH smoked. We didn't have neighbors, so it wasn't a problem. No one was bothered by his smoke but him.

If you would like, yes bell services will load you up into a golf cart and take you and your belongings to your room. (We generally tip at least one dollar per bag with a minimum of $5)

This is good to know. Thanks for the info!

I guess we have always been lucky in our Disney experiences then. :yay:
Everytime we have stayed on site so far a cast member has ALWAYS taken us by cart or van to our room or cabin etc. :moped:
Although I had read on one thread that you were expected to find a bus and go to your building at SSR that's why I thought I'd ask those in the know. Great to know that perhaps we can get a lift (I don't mind tipping after a long trip) and not have to lug luggage to a bus.
I really enjoy these boards and check them out nearly every day...Does that make me a Disney Nut??? I think so and am proud of it! :cool1:
Thanks for everyones help

SSR is a beautiful resort with a very relaxed feeling. It has a lovely zero entry pool with a fun slide and a childs Donald Duck splash pad. We so enjoy spending time in the relaxed atmosphere while taking advantage of carriage rides, spa services, bicycle rentals, the lovely walks to DTD and a round or two of golf.

If you need to be surrounded by lots of hub bub then this resort is not for you since it is way more laid back and relaxing.

How are you arriving to SSR? By car? If you have a car you get to park outside your room like you would at OKW, moderate or value.

If you are arriving by plane you can take advantage of DME and they will bring your luggage to you.

We are flying down but, are not taking advantage of DME. I've seen the good and the not so good posts about ME. We decided to have a car service and plan to stop for a few groceries instead.
I'll ask when checking in(I'm not shy about my personal comfort ;) ) and see if I can wrangle a CM and a cart for a little ride to the room.
Thanks so much for your help!
