With the size of the resort, whats it like to have to walk from the areas on the outer edges to the main pool, spa and other centrally located areas.

If you don't have a car how big of a hassle is it to walk with a 4 yr old from the area that is closest to DTD to the main pool? It looks pretty far on the map?

Will the bus take you and if so how long of a wait?

It's really not as far as it looks. You definitely won't want to wait for the bus to get back and forth. Even though it was a fairly short walk, we found we were using the quiet pool in our own section more than the main pool.

According to the map in my sig it is roughly .25 mile from the middle of Congress Park to High Rock Springs pool. (Equal distance walking from Splash Mountain to IASW.)

Walking time, that's about 5-10 minutes depending on if you are an average to slow walker.

For a 4 yr old, it depends on his/her cranky index. If it is hot & humid, 4 yr old is hungry or tired, not wearing shoes so pavement is hot, then I imagine you'll here a lot of "This is toooo far. Daddy/Mommy, carry me."

Waiting for a bus to carry you a quarter mile seems kinda pointless unless you happen to pass by the bus stop when one is pulling up. Then it can be like a streetcar in San Francisco. But I would not bother waiting on one to take you back at the Springs stop. The only bus that goes from Springs to Congress Park is the DTD bus and that is on an unusually slow schedule during the day.

It's really not as bad of a walk as it looks on the map. The bus is really not worth the wait, cooler but not worth the wait.

I agree that the walk really isn't a big deal. Besides, we're on vacation... what's the rush?

I agree that its not too long of a walk, but then again, as a mother of little kids, it can seem like forever if the kids dont want to walk! Will you have a stroller? If so, use it! That can make all the difference in the world!

I agree! My kids definitely appreciated the ride in the stroller.

The walking around SSR is greatly exagerated.

Peolpe bash SSR for walking distances, yet you have to walk every where in WDW.

BCV owner have to walk from BCV, thru the Beach Club Resort to get to SAB.

VWL have to walk over to Wilderness lodge for food or use thier pools.

BWV....Come on now, there are some long hallways here.

OKW...See SSR.

And just wait to AKV Kidani Village is open. They walk from those end buildings look pretty long too.
