Has anyone tried to fit an air mattress on the floor of the master bedroom of an SSR 2-bedroom unit? We aren't trying to exceed capacity (we only have 8 people), we're trying to avoid using the pull out couch so the kitchen and living room are open to everyone at all times instead of having to avoid them if someone is sleeping on the pull out couch.

Definitely only a single and yes OCC is right going to be very, tight and will restrict walking space, hopefully no one has to get up at night.

I haven't but I am totally with you on leaving living space as living space. :thumbsup2

I think we will skip the air mattress and just put the bedding for the pull out couch on the floor in the master bedroom. Our kids are only 9 and 7 and ask to sleep on the floor of their bedrooms in sleeping bags at home all of the time, so I guess they don't need an air matress to sleep on the floor at Disney World. My back wouldn't take it, but they don't have any problems.

I think there is plenty of room for a single air mattress in the master bedroom in SSR next to the windows. We put a single air mattress next to the windows in the living room as two 17-year old boys did not want to share the pull-out couch. It made it very difficult to get to the balcony but we managed! My other idea was to put it in the foyer as there is room there too but that blocks the internal access to the 2nd bedroom and doesn't solve the original poster's problem of leaving the living room free.

We did it several times with a twin air mattress. It worked fine and we were still able to get up easily in the night to use the bathroom. We put it up against the wall with the window and there was still room for whoever was sleeping on that side of the bed to get out of bed pretty easily (albeit a bit carefully).

My son always slept on the sofa bed, my dd always took the airbed. She went through a stage where she preferred to sleep with us in our room because she liked our tv choices better! We also had no trouble ever putting the twin airbed in the living room area when the sofa bed was made out.

We had that same situation one year and what we did was move the coffee table in the living room and put an air mattress in that room. It worked out ok. We even pulled out the sleeper sofa and put the air mattress (double size) on top of it and then it was fine to sleep on. No matter what anyone says without the air mattress on top those sleeper sofas are not comfortable.
