We have the free SSR picture with matting that is an odd size. Has anyone framed theirs? Did it need a custom frame or did you find one that fit? I am having the hardest time. I think it's 11x13.
I once received 4 sketches that had 4 different print/matt size. I went to buy frames for them and it was going to cost a bundle. So I bought frames (a standard size) and cut the matting down to fit the frames-and they look great (and all the same size now).
Also, I am not familiar with your particular litho/matting but we bought a beautiful WL litho several years ago and needed the matting/frame. I found the perfect frame and matting at a store but it had a print also. I bought it and removed their print and put in my WL litho. Perfect. Then only embarassing part is that I had to buy "Dogs playing poker" in order to get what I needed. I sure got some funny looks......
I went to Michaels. They have "build your own frame" pieces, you can buy them in inch increments, so I bought an 11 and 13. Then bought an 11 x 14 piece of acrylic at Hobby Lobby, which I cut down with my xacto knife, and I have my own, custom built frame! I chose a mahogony colored wood, which looks nice with the burgundy mat. Just a thought!
i was just wondering where to find those lithos..got ours from our ssr purchase but never recieved any for bwv...that was a resale so i guess thats why we didnt get one.
My husband's family refers to the post-marital, er, "domestication" of the males of their particular tribe as "podding" (i.e., it certainly *looks* like they're the same guys, but it couldn't really be them: What have you done with them? These new guys must be "pods," a la "Invasion of the Body Snatchers").
As part of the "podding" that took place after our marriage, I relegated my husband's lovely portrait of dragons playing poker to the garage -- where it remains to this day!!
We used an Internet web site to make a custom frame and mat for our BCV litho. It cost about half what a frame shop would charge and turned out very well.
