SSR incentives are back

I guess they are feeling the need for a drop product again. I wonder if a new member sale will follow.

I suspect this sale is actually a decoy. It's an offer to provide context and to push buyers toward the actual target, which is Poly right now. It allows guides to say, If the price is too high at Poly, you could get SSR at $190pp. Customers then think about that for an hour or a day, then come back and say, We feel like there's more value in Poly, with the location and longer expiration and so on. I think that's what's really going on here. It's not to sell a lot of SSR--they'll sell a little--it's rather to push people toward Poly at those pretty wacky near-full prices in a way to make Poly seem like the better value.

I think its a distinct possibility. The incentive is actually pretty bad. If they really are wanting to sell it they didnt do themselves any favors by making the OKW deal as good as it was. Because now it's always going to be compared to that. However there is the FOMO people that will buy just because the OKW deal sold out.

You may well be correct! Happy to report that my SSR contract just passed ROFR!

That makes a lot of sense. I was worried that if they continue to keep having SSR incentives, then they might start taking some back in ROFR. If they’re not actually selling many direct SSR contracts though then there probably isn’t anything to worry about. It’s definitely hard to justify SSR direct prices vs. resale right now. I would choose Poly direct over SSR right now with the pricing and longer contract, so your theory makes sense to me

This is an interesting theory, but the email I received this morning indicates this is a member exclusive offer.

Is there another version for new members that is being offered? The URL that normally would have it was a broken link for me.

The offer is NOT on EITHER the new members or the existing members add-on page. I'm guessing this was put together quickly to create a false comparison of value and then emailed out. It would be interesting to know how wide it's being used. But this really looks like a classic decoy offer to drive people to the target option, which is Poly.

I'm confused - it is clearly listed on the add on page for me. In any event, I agree with your theory for existing members, but since it is not being offered to new members, I expect the results of this effort to be minimal. It is just curious to me that they didn't extend it to new members, but perhaps that will follow in the coming weeks. Hard to do that when the SSR incentives are so terrible, though.
