OK, so we are going for our first visit as DVC members, and staying at SSR on DP. I have read through the MANY posts about the best places to stay at SSR, yadda yadda. Quite frankly, I get confused the more I read about it, so if no one minds, I'm going to ask some straight up questions here...

Where should we stay, (or ask to be put)???
1. We are traveling with 2 boys, ages 7 and 3 months.
2. We would like to get first dibs on the bus, as we will have the full stroller, with carseat as well.
3. Near a pool would be nice, but we have no problem walking a little, either.
4. We would like to be able to shop during down time (resort store), and would like to take the boat to DTD a couple times.
5. I hear there are some good views from some areas, and that would be nice too, but not a necessity.

Oh, too add in, we are staying in a 1BR. Thanks for your help. We are a bit overwhelmed trying to plan our traveling with the baby, so any help would be great!

I'd put the Grandstand first and Congress Park second in your situation. I'm not as versed in the bus routes as some here since we normally drive to the parks but overall I think those two will be your best bets. The Springs would be next then the Paddock followed by the Carousel last.

I agree with Dean :goodvibes

Grandstand is 1st bus stop to be picked up & dropped off, has it's own pool (with great splash area for kids), golf course views from some buildings, short walk (5 minutes) to Carriage House (where store/restaurants are) and short walk to boat dock.

Another vote for the Grandstand being your first choice.

For what you said, the Grandstand is your best match.

The bus stops in this order:

1. Grandstand
2. Paddock 1 (Carousel)
3. Paddock 2
4. Congress Park
5. Springs.

You don't say when you're going. If it's after June 1st, then the new Treehouse Villas will be open. We don't know for sure but expect that THV will become the new 1st stop, and Grandstand 2nd, and so on.

When you request Grandstand, also request near the Grandstand pool. Some of the outer Grandstand buildings are a little away from the pool itself.

Also, the Grandstand buildings closest to the pool are also the closest to the SSR boat dock. Probably closer than even the buildings in the Springs area.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Caskbill! We will be there from April 4-8. I did call and request Grandstand, but I may call back and request to be close to the pool. Great info! I am so excited...

Are you taking a carseat on the bus?
ETA - never mind - you're refering to the car seat that goes into the stroller for such a small infant - I got it!

Request to be in one of the two Grandstand buildings next to the pool. These are next to the bus stop and is a quick walk to the main area and boat dock.
