What are your thoughts on the Grandstand section of SSR? The pool, pool bar, proximity to the Carriage House, noise levels, etc. Thanks!

We really liked the Grandstand section of SSR, my kids LOVED it! The Grandstand pool area has a water play area that was a huge hit my kids!!! They HAD to get time in everyday to play in that area. The pool area was right out our villa door so it was super convenient. The walk to the carriage house and main pool was also very easy. I know if we decide to stay at SSR again someday I will be requesting the Grandstand section! :)

We love Grandstand. We were really close to the main pool and the pool at the Grandstand was really nice as well. We just got back a few weeks ago and our group consisted of 8 adults and 8 kids (all under 5!) We had 2 2-bd at Grandstand and everyone really enjoyed the location. It wasn't noisy that I can recall. Also, Grandstand is the first pickup for the parks and the first drop off - great when you really want to get home!

Pool bar looked fun but I never got a chance to have a drink - my 4yo and 1yo kept me pretty busy - we had drinks on our patio every night after kiddies were in bed!

Do you have any more questions? I really loved the location and would request that section again for sure.

We were there in late August. I liked the location, liked the pool, but we never caught the pool bar open. So if we wanted a drink by the pool we had to walk up to the main pool.

We also loved the location. My kids loved the water play area. It was great to just be able to sit at the tables and chairs and watch them play there. We all enjoyed the pool too. The walk to the main building was quick and easy. Our room was in excellent condition since the Grandstand was the last building built. We had a beautiful view of the golf course. We also loved that the bus stop is the first one in the resort. So when going to the parks we always had a seat. When coming back we were the first stop too and that was helpful after a long day with 2 sleepy kids.

Although I never noticed much people or bus noise at Grandstand,

I did notice a lot of daytime general mechanical and overhead helicopter noise (tours seemingly every 5 minutes?) in July. (I was in one of the "far" buildings near the river.) The extra nightime DTD noise and rumbling was noticable on the balcony. With the slider shut, all was silent, though!
Wonder how it is with PI shut down?

Thanks for all of the feedback. Sounds like we made a good request with this section - here's hoping we get it!

We stayed in Grandstand for 7 nights in August. The noise was from other guests. The people in the villa around the corner thought it was FINE for their kids to SCREAM down the corridors at 10 PM when they came in from the pool. I mean SCREAM, like somebody was cutting their arms off with a dull chainsaw. One night I stomped out there and told them to be quiet, and after that they were much better.

Then there was a guy who would go outside at 4 AM to talk on his phone. DH thinks the guy was doing international business and it was because of the time difference. Anyway, he would talk REALLY LOUD in some language other than English.

We liked Grandstand but I would insist on NOT being on the bottom floor next time. :)

We love Grandstand - for all the preferential bus stop, tranquility, and the Grandstand pool (which is the 2nd largest SSR pool).

We always walked back to Carriage House which only took 3 minutes from where we were (the furthest building West).

Another big Grandstand fan here.:thumbsup2

The location was great. First bus stop, close to Carriage House, and it was very quiet.

We requested it again when we made our reservation at 11 months out for this December.
