For those of you who have stayed at the Grandstand Building, I would very much appreciate your opinions.

Is this location quiet? (in terms of noise from DTD)

Is this location close to the main building, where the restaurants and main pool are?

Would you request this location? If so, why? If no, where would you request?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There are 4 buildings in the Grandstand section. We were in the next to farthest one away from the main building (if that makes sense). In other words, there were two buildings closer than us. We had a view of the golf course and it was soooo quiet. We felt like we were the only ones in the building. Did not hear any noises at all. As far as the DTD noises, I don't think you would hear anything even if you were in Congress Park, which is the closest to DTD. We had about a 5-10 minute walk to the main building and a 20 minute walk to DTD, but we have no kids and don't mind walking. We would request Grandstand again and again.

Agree with Flyerfan Grandstand is very quiet. We had the last studio in the whole of SSR number wise! The studio was in the block furthest from the main building but we found it ideal, overlooking the golf course made it very scenic :)

we were in GS right next to pool. Very quiet, 1st bus pick-up, VERY short walk to main bldg. I would request again in a heartbeat.

Also, grandstand is the first bus stop for all the theme park routes.:cool1:

Stayed in 8303 in January, never even heard our neighbors. Close to the quiet pool, DS 5 and DD 2 loved the fountain area. First stop on and, even better, off from the parks. DH walked to the Carriage House and said it was right around the corner. Would only request the Grandstand ever, loved it!

Hope this helps!

We were actually in two buildings at Grandstand on our last stay (long story about being put in a villa that was supposed to have been taken out of inventory for scheduled maintenance). Our first room was the building closest to the Carriage House (main building where check-in is). This room had a view of the golf course from the back, and was right at the pool from the front. From there, we were moved to a villa in the building on the other side of the pool.

Both were extremely quiet -- I was a little apprehensive of having a balcony that overlooked the kid's play area of the pool, but we never heard anything when the sliding door was closed.

Both buildings were very close to the main pool (although we almost ever used it, because we liked the Grandstand pool better), and Artist's Pallet. In fact, I'd say it wasn't any farther than the building we were in at the Springs the year before.

The other buildings in Grandstand are a little farther away from the Carriage House, but not what I'd consider excessively far.

As already stated, you can't beat the bus service from the Grandstand. First on the bus going to the parks, first off coming back.

Grandstand will always be our first request in the future.

Wait, what month are you going? If it's late July or early August, you'd better not take my villa!

Thanks everyone for your posts. I feel a lot better now. It would be our first time there and was a little nervous about which building to request. I think I chose the correct one.:thumbsup2

I'm so glad I asked:cool1:

We were in the Grandstand, third farthest building away from main pool area and loved it. Close enough tho walk(5-7 min.) to Artist Palette, boat launch, main pool, etc.. but none of the hustle and bustle of staying over there. The view was very peaceful, Sassagoula river and golf course.:

First, all of the rooms at Saratoga are extremly quiet. All of the buildings have excellent sound proofing. We never hear anyone, not next door, not in the hall, nothing at all. Our last visit we were right next to the Grand Stand bus stop, with our room overlooking the road and the golf course. I was like great, we'll have the buses waking us at night. Nope, it was blissfully quiet! :cloud9:

Second, the Grand Stand section is by far our favorite section to stay at SSR. We prefer it over Congress Park and its DTD view. If you want quick acess to Artist pallet and the main pool, then I would suggest you stay in the Springs section.

my nephew got one in the building next to the swimming pool - he had a view of the golf course and the river (where the DTD boat goes by)

all of SSR is quiet.

stayed in Congress park - back when they had fireworks every night at PI - and that is the only thing we heard - the fireworks.

We've stayed in CP a few times as well and never hear any noise from DTD at all. The rooms have hurricane impact windows which really cuts down on the outside noise tremendously! If only all of the deluxe resorts had those same windows! Heck I wish we had them at home on our house!:lmao:

I loved our last location at CP because we were in the building just across the water from the tennis courts (the furthest west building in CP). It was a 5 min walk to the main area and 10-15 min walk to DTD and about 7 min to the boat dock. GREAT LOCATION! It was also on the ground floor. It was quiet most of time except when we heard the neighbors above us in the Grand Villa. We think they were dragging their luggage up and down the stairs.;) Otherwise it was great!:thumbsup2
