We will arrive in Orlando one night before our cruise. The flight gets in at 4pm, so we really won't have time to do anything other than Walmart and DTD for dinner.

Do you think it's worth it/too much hassle to stay at SSR for just one night pre cruise? If so, is SSR easy to park and get in and out? We called the resort and asked which section/building was easiest to park at and they were less than helpful :confused3

I'm just concerned about hauling luggage (and family members and a baby :cutie:) around through the property since it seems so huge. We've never been there...

I've looked into staying at Cocoa Beach, but we may get bored at night since we're from West Coast and we'll likely sleep late since we're 3 hours behind.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

(We're waiting for ROFR, so if everything goes well I'm hoping that I'll have this dilemma of choosing where to stay on points )

Yes, to me it is. Parking at SSR is easy. Convenience to downtown disney is a plus.

Does each section of SSR have its own parking. For example, I've read that Congress Park is closest walking distance to DTD. If I get assigned a room there, would I get to park right next to my room/building?

YES and YES

Before our cruise in January we stayed at the Comfort inn and Suites in Cape Canaveral. It was wonderful. They have a nice pool and hot tub (not Disney, but nice) A nice Free Continental breakfast. The best part is they have a shuttle to the port and free parking if you add the park and cruise option (20.00 per room)

I saw a thread in the cruise forum that gave me the idea. I booked it on Priceline. Turns out if you request a 2.5 star hotel in cape canaveral the only one that qualifies is the Country Inn and suites. I bid 49.00 and got it!!

Then when you book in you add the park and cruise option and you're set. So for 69.00 we got a Kids suite (queen size bed and seperate area with bunks and a single)
Since parking at the port would have been 60.00 bucks for the 4 night cruise we got a nice room and pool and breakfast for 9.00

I don't have time to look but that thread was in the cruise forum.

We did exactly this before our Disney cruise in August one year. So worth it to us. We don't really like other hotels. They never feel as clean to me as Disney's. Disney has way better food & pool offering imo. Saratoga was just perfect for the 1 night before the cruise.
