SSR - do you usually get your request?

If you have requested a specific section at SSR, have you gotten it? Did you request it before you arrived or upon arrival?

There's no reason SSR would be any better or worse at honoring requests. We've had some met, some not.

The last time we stayed we requested Congress Park prior to arrival and when we checked in we were assigned a room in the Springs. We politely asked if there were any rooms in Congress Park and the CM happily changed our room. So we did both, I guess... and ended up having our request granted.

Thanks all! If we don't get our request upon check in, we will politely ask if there is any availability. If not, we'll just go with the flow...

What a great plan. I have found that if your expectations are too high than you set yourself up for a disappointment. We have been lucky getting what we ask for. Once we did ask for an area change and it was granted.

I voted sometimes, but I did get our requests 3 out of 4 times. The time we did not, we checked in at like 8 am and a room was ready in carousel. So we took it, very happy to not be homeless for the day. I think SSR is very good at trying to grant room requests.

Both times we requested either the Springs or Congress Park. Both times we got our request for the Springs.

That's our thinking too. We just don't want to be in The Carousel section so anything other than that and we'd be happy.

MS came through both times! 2 for 2!
I always request during
our reservations...there's never a guarantee but...
I have to look at the over all scheme of things...
our family owns property at WDW while so many people
can only wish they could be at WDW
just once in their lives!

We've owned for at SSR for 4 years now and I'm
still in awe of it! To own at WDW...WOW!

Our last three trips we have requested and gotten Congress Park. We like that best becuase it is a short walk to Downtown Disney.

We just returned from a week at SSR. We booked in March, and were very specific with DVC that our preference was to be in Congress Park. I called DVC member services the day before we left, anad our preferences were read back to me by the MS personnel, just as we requested.

At check-in as SSR, the front desk stated that our preference was not even in their system! A manager came and discussed, but I have been unable to get an explaination as to why the request was in one system and not the other. I realize that there are no guarantees, but was very disappointed that the request couldn't be considered since it didn't show up in the front desk system. Unfortuantely for us, we were put in Carousel, which was much farther than we had hoped to be.

We have had our request accomodated in the past. My concern that I share with other DVC members is that the DVC system doesn't seem to be completely linked to the SSR front desk.
