We love the Springs location.. so close to the pool, and the main building.. etc.. As you all probably know, the spring's one downfall is the order of the bus route- it is the last one picked up.. and the last one dropped off. I'm not too concerned about the drop off..but I was wondering how far would it be to walk to a "better" bus stop so that we may be able to get seats instead of having to stand. Can anyone help?

The closets bus stop to the Springs is the Grandstand. It is a fair walk though so have some comfortable walking shoes!!

You walk past the main building and past the 'Bell Services' area. Keep walking on the path until you will see the Grandstand pool area. But you have to keep walking past the pool and even past the next building. All in all I would say it is a 7-10 min walk (maybe less if you are a fast walker).

If it was a really hot day outside, you would definintely be 'moist' by the time you got there....:umbrella:

We stayed in the Springs section during our December trip and always used the bus stop in the Springs. We never waited more that 15 minutes for a bus and always got a seat. I don't believe there will be a need to walk to another bus stop.

I have never had a problem with getting the bus at springs but if you want to be sure to get a seat just walk over to grandstand bus stop its not that far sit back and enjoy the ride around the resort

Well we didn't have a problem this past Mardi Gras trip as we were up and at it very early in the morning. But we are a bit concerned about our upcoming trip this summer (in only 10 days now ). I really could care less about standing up myself, but my oldest son is concerned about it..

Thanks for the reassurances...

Depending where you are in the Springs. You could get off at the Carousel or Paddock stops. Springs is across the bridge.

The stops are not that bad. They make a loop around the resort. Not alot of doubling back or go into "neighborhoods" and out again.

I timed our trip last year from MK to Congress park was 25 min exactly and that included stops at GS, Carousel, Paddocks.

It really isn't that far from the Springs bus stop to the Grandstand stop, maybe a quarter mile at most. If the walk is too far for you then you are vacationing at the wrong spot! You are going to spend the entire day walking around the parks; really, what difference is a couple of extra yards going to make?

I was at SSR 2 weeks ago; I stayed at the Grandstand and walked to Artist's Pallette every morning for breakfast (as well as later at night for mug refills and other miscellany) and then back to the room again. The walk isn't bad.

On the other had, if I had to stand on the bus while getting to a park - that's a pain!

I did the opposite. We stayed at Grandstand and walked to the Springs for everything else. We had our own private pool and we spent much of our time in the parks. It made more sense for us to have a better bus stop location than a room near the main pool.

In April, we stayed in the Paddock right by the Carousel bus stop (second stop on the route) and loved the location. :thumbsup2 It was not too far of a walk to the main pool or Carriage House and we always got a seat on the bus. :goodvibes
