Does SSR have connecting doors between 1 bed room suites?

We have two rooms, both 1 bed room... and we would like them to connect but aren't sure if that is even possible. I guess it wouldn't be much different if our rooms were side by side, might even be better!

Before you go asking why we don't have a 2bd suite.... we have two different families with different reservations. A 2bd would be WAY too close to the other people.

villas are organized so that studio rooms are connected to 1BR villas to make up a 2BR villa.

none of the studios connect to other studios and likewise, none of the 1BRs connect with other 1BRs.

you can request to be near the other 1BR but it's not guaranteed that you'd even be in the same building...

I thought that might be the case. Thanks for the confirmation!

We will hope for the best to get both rooms at least in the same building. A 2 bed room isn't even an option for us. My parents are using their points and we are using ours.

FYI - You can transfer your points to your parents or have them transfer to you and then book the 2 bedroom if that will work better for you.

Agree. Or book the first part of the trip under one account and the second part under another account and have the two reservations linked.

Unless you have a need for two kitchens and two living rooms, the Two Bedroom villa is a more cohesive choice. Each bedroom has doors for privacy. You'll have to figure out who gets the master suite and who takes the second bedroom. But a 2B will cost considerably less than two One Bedroom villas.

Does is matter that we have DVC points and the parents have RCI points?

Regardless... we both have points we will loose this year, so it is okay that it will take more points for 2, 1 bed rooms.

I don't think either of us want to give up the master suite. We are spoiled that way!

But thank you for the tips.... they are very much appreciated!

Yes- if you both had DVC points you could do this but I don't think you can combine DVC points with RCI for this.

You might already know this, but in case someone reading doesn't, make sure that you call MS and link the two reservations and put the request on each one to be close to the other. There is no guarantee, but if your reservation requests being close to them and their reservation requests being close to you, you have a better shot.

Enjoy the trip!

As noted, there are no connecting rooms other than the 2 BR lockoff's with a 1 BR and a studio. You can ask they be close and should. YOu can't formally link them though. I'm sure you know about the extra $95 fee payable to DVC on check in for the RCI points reservation.

For sake of discussion lets say that one of you had a 1 BR and the other a studio and asking if they could be combined. The answers is not formally but possibly informally by receiving the connect units as separate rooms. This would only be possible if you had a 1 BR lockoff and a studio lockoff but is very workable for the right situation but can't be guaranteed.

We usually just get a 2 br villa so it has never crossed my mind to link the reservations.

My parents probably know about the fee, but thanks for the heads up. We tried talking them into becoming DVCers, with no luck. Oh well... they can just pay the extra fees when traveling with us.

Thanks for the idea! We will keep that in mind.
