SSR and renting your points?

I see on the other board that people routinely rent points that they are not going to use.

For owners of SSR, being that it does not seem to be as sort after as say BCV, how easy or hard is it to rent points.

We are thinking of buying 200 points but I am sure there will be years when we can't go and want to be able to rent my points to try and recoup some of the cost.

Any luck with that?

It does not matter after you get within the 7 month window you can use them for any of the resorts.But there are some people that will be looking for you to book for them at 11 months out at SSR.
Well we have rented ours quite a few times and never ever had a problem at all.There are some generic contrcts around the Dis somewhere that I wolud suggest you use if you decide to rent them out. DVC is starting to watch because there are some DVCers that rent them out and have a business doing it and they are starting to watch.
They will flag yor account if you do so many reservations a year and not in your name.I dont remember how many it is though.

What's nice about DVC is that you can bank and borrow your points. So if you aren't planning on going next year, bank those points into the next year. Then you have two year's worth of points for your next trip. That means a longer stay or larger villa. A good reason to bank those points.

Also, if you know you won't be going next year, you can also borrow next year's points into the current year and do the same. Larger villa, longer stay.

Then you won't have to bother with renting those points. There are a few horror stories out there about members who tried to do a favor to a non-member. Read those threads carefully.
