Hi, I just planned a last minute trip for just my 3 yr old and myself (leaving the boys at home) and we were able to get into SSR but I've never stayed there before. Does anyone have any quick practical info that would be good for me to know. We're used to staying at BWV and BCV so I know SSR will be a big change. The DVC cast member who booked my stay requested "the springs" for me. Does that sound like the right location request?

Springs is the closest area to the restaurants, theme pool, spa, etc. Walking there with a 3 year old shouldn't be a problem. :)

Thank you. Is the store that sells grocery items in that area as well?

If you're taking the ME bus and not renting a car, you can use gardengrocer.com. They deliver groceries to your resort. I 'm not familiar with grocery stores in the area. I know other posters are. We always use gardengrocer and have been happy with them.

The store at SSR does have some groceries, but I wouldn't count on them for all your needs.

The Grandstand is also very nice. It is early in the bus stop route, first or second stop if I remember correctly. It also has a very cool pool that has spray cannon type things your three year old would love. Its a short walk to the Springs and the main pool and restaurants. The springs is the last stop on the bus route. Although that is not generally a problem, the buses at this resort have always been excellent. And while BW is wonderful, sometimes I hated it that I had to walk or boat to Epcot and MGM. I actually prefer the busses after a long day, but thats just me!

The grocery store has quite a bit, I was surprised at how much they had. Far more than the grocery store at BWV and OKW based on my experience. And its connected Artist's Palette and has a nice bakery there too, so you can get fresh baked muffins, cookies etc.

I love SSR, I think you will too! Its a lovely, quiet resort, the spray jets at the main pool are wonderful, the zero entry at the main pool are perfect for a toddler and Artist's Palette is in my opinion the best counter service on property. Being close to DTD is nice if you want to resort hop, shop or dine. The boat ride to DTD is something your three year old will also enjoy.
