SS Swap - Wish that's what I had said on my list

Ok, ... what is the difference between chalp alpha templates & regular alpha templates? Thank you!

I don't think there really is a difference. The only thing I really noticed about the templates that I bought at the GASC was that they are stiffer than the collection I have from walmart and Michael's for example. I think this makes it easier to chalk without the template coming up and making you make a mess out of your letters, animals, etc. (I could be totally wrong on that by the way....:D ) Maggie

(also since they are a bit sturdier, they are less likely to rip, which I have done with my cute little letter one from walmart)

I saw them being used on DIY and they look really kewl!! So I just thought I would wish upon a star for them.

Maybe I'll ask tomorrow when I go cropping if I don't foret.

nicurn - if you don't mind my asking how much did you pay for your templates and which chalk templates did you get?

I want to hear all about these.

Laura

I can't speak for the durability of the templates, but the set that crazyforpooh seems to be interested in (at least looking at the picture) is a layered/themed template. The way they showed it on DIY Scrapbooking, you first chalk a chunky letter. Then you lay the themed template down, erase and rechalk (or use markers, etc.) the top layer. The results really are neat. (See link to the DIY article above.)

I bought them from their booth and they were 5.50 each since I bought 3. I bought zoo animals because they were really cute, the one with strawberries and other flowers,(country charm) and dazzling doodles #3030 sand and sea for any beach layouts I might do. :D I bought the "decorating chalks, for a pastel touch" there are 24 squares in the box. It was $10.99. You can also get smaller boxes with 9 colours for 5.99 or something to that effect. You might want to look for the chalks by EK success though, they come with a chalk erasure and are circular. maggie

I just looked at both websites mentioned above & cannot tell the difference :). I asked at one of my LSS today & the owner was not familiar with a separate alphabet template just for chalk.

I don't think they are specifically for chalk, they just are used with chalk by the chalk lady on the web site. She does say you can use them with markers, etc. I think that they may be a little more sturdy than say the templates at walmart. The sturdier they are, the easier it is to chalk on them. maggie

Thanks, Maggie! Sometimes it takes me awhile to catch on especially since I need to see something like this to better understand it :).

I think I put this on my survey, but wasnt sure! I have seen tons of great pages with this lately and I am eager to try!!!

thanks!:D

time. They are pretty kewl. Atleast I think they look it and hope the those in the Summer/Holiday swap hope they do.

YA I am in that swap - and I LOVE brads (lot less work than eyelets thats for sure! :)

Has anyone tried the 12x12 colorblocking Templates?
I keep looking at them...

PattyT

I use them -
I wallpaper most of my pages -
meaning htat I take a peice of 12X12 cut it to fit between the plastic end pieces - then use the paper to make my layout then I adhere the whole page to the CM page
here are a few examples:

http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=121195

http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=117189

http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=123155

if you look close you can see that they are in cm albums!

oh if you don't wallpaper then you can just make a title - matt and put the eyelet or brad through just the title then adhere to the page - I have examples of that somewhere if I can find them!

were being thread thiefs here! :) sorry guys!

Ok, what are the colorblocking templates? maggie

your dd is a cutie. Since car also.

Have a good 4th of July everyone.

AIRHEAD ALERT!

I'm sorry Laura I thought you meant Brads won't work - I bet the templates would only work if you wallpaper way to the edges of a page - I'll have to measure and see - I have seen websites with instruction on how to make your own templates (to lazy rather buy em) maybe I'll have to do that!

Maggie-
COlorblocking Templates - heres a link- it's easier than explaining I think - The template allows you to cut the blocks of color or photos precisely!

http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=171240

those are made from the same 'template' you can flip and flop for a bunch of layouts!

PattyT,

I love the look of the Deluxe Cut Colorblocking Templates - but I'm too cheap to buy them  (mostly because I would want them all in the 12x12 size - at $6 a piece - I could buy lots of other supplies) I'm also disappointed that I didn't know that they were on sale a couple weeks ago at AC Moore. Oh well.

I have one of those color block things and just don't get it! DH gave me one for Christmas I tried to use but just didn't under stand! So now it is house proudly in my Sticker binder! Maybe I will try it again!

lol Spinning -
sounds like my 'sewing machine'
do a search on twopeasinabucket
you will see tons of ideas!
