SR- Netflix can you switch plans after free trial and still get credit?

I understand that for this offer you must remain a member beyond the free trial to get credited (it's written on the offer description). I'm OK with that bc. I want to join any way and plan to remain a member indefinitely. But the plan that I would have chosen ($4.99/month) was not offered on the sign-up page through SR. So I signed up for the $8.99/mo plan, through SR, for the free 14 day trial.
I was wondering if at the end of the free trial, rather than canceling, could I just tell them I want to switch to the $4.99 plan? Will I still get credit, since I'm remaining a member beyond the free trial, just not with the original plan?

I'm 99% sure that I did this, and I did get credit. The 1% is left just in case I switched after our first month, and just dealt with the too-many-movies-for-us plan for that first month.

So if they have it available for you, I think you could switch...when I switched, I just did it online. But if they don't show it for you...I'm not sure if you can contact them and request it, but I hope you can do it!

What you said about the other plans being "too-many-movies-for-us" is exactly how I feel. After years of being a Hollywood Video customer our local store is closing. I always bought their calendar which had a buy-one-get-one free coupon for each month. I rarely rented w/o using the coupon, so I know that 2 movies a month is about what our needs are. Happy to see Netflix offers this! As long as they do, I'll remain a member. Thank you SR for including this in their list of offers!
