When we were at the world 2 years ago in 2001 we collected a few squished pennies. On our return last week we thought it would be fun to collect as many as we could find.

We were so disappointed to see that they have raised the price of these pennies to 50 cents from 25 cents. How can they justify doubling the price?

Am I correct here - didn't it used to be 25 cents?

Instead of buying the 100-200 we planned on buying ($25-$50 income for Disney) we only bought 6 ($1.50 income for Disney). We were very disappointed.

Hey Disney clueless suits - look at the above math and see if you made a good move.

I've been collecting pressed pennies since the 25th celebration in 1997. The pennies have always been $.50 to press. In fact, the first pressed penny machine I ever saw was at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle during the China exhibit and that was in the mid-80's. That machine was also $.50 to press. I remember it because my Dad refused to let me get one because it was just wasting two quarters...BUT!!!! we found one on the floor, so I got my dragon penny anyway.

However, what gets me, is at DL the quarter presses are $.75 plus the quarter. At WDW it's $1.00 plus the quarter.
