So sorry to hear about Candi's grandfather-I know what a bittersweet time that is-My MIL was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor a week after we told everyone we were expecting our first son. My heart goes out to all of you.

I remember my grandmother saying things like that also. My senior year, I made a cedar chest in woodshop....when she saw it, she called it her casket. That sure didn't make me feel good, but then again, I wasn't the one facing what it was like to get old. I think it's just human nature.

Dan my prayers are with you and all your family!!My DMIL had lung cancer that spread to the brain years ago !It was heart breaking to watch her towards the end , but we treasured every day she was with us , as I am sure you wil for Candi's grandpa !

that was how it was with my grandpa, toward the begining of the pregancy is when we found out he was sick and passed away...it sure has been an emotional up and down for both sides of hte families this last year.

it has to be tough and i guess that is just how some people cope with it....but its still hard.

Chapter 51. Animals Here and There.

First sorry for no update lately, have alot of things going on right now.

Today was our last full day in Disney before we left. So it was a relaxation day, my dad also used it as a day to get things packed up so we could leave early the next morning.

Candi and I woke up at 7:00 and hit the trail to WL for another run. we didnt take the camera this morning just wanted to relaxe and enjoy the run. We pin traded once we got to WL with a few CM's and found a family searching for some HM's in the lobby, so we hung back to see what they found.

There as a really cool one about 30 feet up on the right side of the fireplace in the brick/stone that is stamped in there.

Candi got her coffee and we sat outside by the pool and watched the family of 10 ducks swimming in the pool. There was a dad eating with his family there and he was actually petting the duck while it was eating from his hands.

When we got back to the camper we had breakfast.....and sent candi off to the pool to have some relaxation time, while we took parker to the FW Tri Circle D ranch

we saw animals being washed.

and some that were gigantic in there stalls eating.

this is at the maui ocean center....i wonder how this guy has a frown on his mouth, but still looks like he is smiling.

this was one reason i bought my new camera, i was still new with it, but the automatic settings worked out good for me, until i could play around with the manual ones....and i was happy with my dark into shots that i took as well as other ones of animals inside here.

parker loved all the displays of fish.

we even found a creature that we have not identified yet.

this was a cool fish, it transforms to the colors of what it touches...

one of my favorite pictures that it took inside that exibit.

outside they had a touching exibit where you could feel alot of different sea life...the big puff ball thing was really cool

sea turtle babies.

they eat the greens, but go for the frozen veggie mixture first and actually sort of fight over getting to them first.

Chapter 52. Water is fun anywhere.

Back at the pool after visiting some animals, we meet up with candi, and it was craft time at the pool.

it was a kit that had a little pot to put decorations on, and then you can grow a plant in it...parker lasted about 30 seconds then wanted to swim, and got up to leave.

these are shots with my point and shoot camera but i was happy with the action in them and catching the water spraying up.

we were happy he was having such a good time, but it also reminded us how big he was (last summer) and already able to do big boy stuff and didnt want any help climbing up the play area to go down again...

dont you love how kids can let water spray them in the face playing in a pool, but dump water on there head when giving them a bath and they freak out.

day seems like it is a beautiful one so far, but more to come and does the weather stay nice for us.

what if water.

the day before the ocean center, we came across a couple getting married on the sand.

i really like this one of us watching the sunset.

so see water is fun everywhere, you can play in it, get married by it, or sit and watch the sunset by it, and have a great time



when we were going through the gift shop at the ocean center we ran across a guy who was doing art paintings....these were awesome...


that is the easiest way to put it.

as you can see in the first picture he has one single "brush thing" that he would dip into different colors...and paint with...when i say different colors, i mean he would put about 4 different colors on the brush at one time, and paint...by putting different preasure on it, or lifting it up to a certain angle he would make different colors touch the page at a time and paint.

he would not allow people to video, but i can neither confirm nor deny that someone didnt say they were adjusting there settings on the camera and got a video of it. but for security reasons, will not show it.


he had some examples of ones and you could pick out scenes you liked, or things you wanted, we told him parker loved volcanoes and different animals and he said he would incorporate them into it.
we got one for baby girl as well, but for security reasons, i cant show it, just yet anyway.

i cant get a good zoomed in picture of it, but hope you can see the detail in it....he really likes the dolphine jumping over the volocano the best.

that night we had a mommy daddy date night, while parker hung out with papa and nene at the hotel.

we went to bubba gumps.

i had to stop when we were being ushered to our table to get a shot of the sign to the bathroom.

and i like how you tell your server if you need something.

when you turn to red they are suppose to stop.

well i was taking this picture, and when i finished i looked up and saw a waiter standing there, he said yes what do you guys need....i said nothing just taking a picture of the sign...he wasnt even our waiter so i guess it works.

we had a gift card to use up from our resort, so we decided to splurg on some drinks.

non boozy for the misses.

and boozy for me.
plus you got to keep the glass, very cool glasses and cheap (mixed drink wise with a glass to keep) both under 9 bucks each.

see water is even fun while you eat...right outside our table straight down was the water...we were out over it.

candi wanted to get artsy with the sunset.

she took these and was proud of them.

the waves were coming in strong so my panarmoic didnt turn out great if you look at the water, but a cool concept anyway.

dinner was awesome, candi had the mahi mahi battered fish and chips, and raved about them...they were very good she gave me a bite.

and i couldnt decide which shrimp dish to go with, since you have to get shrimp there.

so i got the platter sampler.

had four kinds.

tempura, cocunut, fried, and peel and eat...there ended up being about 20 total shrimp on the dish...i was full at about the 12 mark, but forced myself to eat the rest, as they were so good.

Hey Dan, Just wanted to let you know that I had time to pop in here today, and saw that you've had some tough news come your way. Just as you've been so supportive to me in the last couple years through all kinds of ups and downs, I just wanted you to know that you can count of us to keep you in our thoughts and prayers. I really hope you can have a few more memories with him to treasure for a lifetime, and that he will take comfort in knowing he's left a legacy of good to all of you.

ETA: Looks like as I posted this, you put an update up. LOVELY pictures!!! Looks like you have a pretty good handle on your camera. I loved your fish pictures a lot!

You got a lot of awesome shots at the aquarium. You must have a great camera because mine always come out dark for stuff like that! I need to invest in a decent camera for my next trip.

Out of all the things you did in this update, what did you make me want to do the most? Go to Bubba Gump. I've never been and those signs to tell the waiters when you need something are clever!
