Alright Dan, I'm officially de-lurking here! First, you're family is beautiful, I really do mean that!

I think it's wonderful that you're donating for such an amazing cause! Good job!

And, my official cut count is 7. I say 2 on either side of your head (right above your ears) and 3 on the tippie top. Actually I'm guessing that if you looked down on your head (like an aerial photo) the cuts make an interesting pattern similar to the France garden in the World Showcase...

Are you a bleeder? Did you have to walk around all day with little pieces of toilet paper stuck to it to absorb the blood??

Well i am sure everyone is excited to see the after photos but first a little typing to preface it.

My original goal to raise was $1,000 well i surpased that a few weeks ago and had a new goal of $1,500 i was able to pass that amound and still have some funds coming in, so I will be over $1,600 before it is all said and done.

I am friends with our city mayor so he asked if i would jump on his "team" to outraise the funds of some other local mayors that were competing to see who could raise the most money.

I said sure, and it helped. One local mayor raised about $2,700 toward the cause, another was at about $4,700 and with my fundraising "our team" raised roughly $5,500. without my funds of $1,530 he would have lost...so i was happy to help him reach his goal of beating the other local mayor teams.

Over all the competition was hoping to raise $10,000 at our event, well I am pleased to say we raised over $30,000 with the donations that were collected last night at the last minute and some other activities that we had within our city. we had about 60 people who shaved there heads.

Now onto the shaving pics.


Here is a self styled before pic of my hair, with some green spray for affect.

on stage before we got shaved checking the donation amounts right before to see if we beat the other mayor teams.

since we won, our mayor got the first swipe of one of the others.

geting ready for the rest of us to get buzzed.

this is the lady who did my hair. just wait for that story.

see how she is going down AT my head in this picture....remember that.

i wasnt nervous i was excited to get it done and at this point i still had not seen what my head looked like...right before this picture snapped parker was playing with myhair. he said it felt funny and tickled him and laughed.

but he could not stop giving me hugs, which made me feel great...and he would not leave my side, holding my hand afterwards the entire time and everywhere we walked afterwards.


here it is you have been waiting for it.

now after this picture, i had to go to a mirror, my head had been burning ever since she was cutting it...and it didnt seem normal...well if you remember that one picture, instead of going across my head with the cutters, if you remember, she was going down at my head.

she was leading with the teeth of the shaver and once it hit my head then she went and leveled it out to cut my hair.

i didnt want to say anything because she was older and i didnt want to hurt her feelings...but i wish i had.

i went to the bathroom and washed it off, and man did it burn when water hit it...the fire dept. guys i know there said they had some burn stuff to help which it did, it took away the pain almost instantly.

here is the look a few hours later.

if you look toward my four head you can make out some that are not even close to my hair, and the red lines in my hair are from the blade. this was 2 hours later and you can still see alot of read spots on my head where she was pulling the razor over it instead of cutting normal how you do. the redness is gone today....so that is good...it looks normal now.


so after looking my head over, we decided not to razer it down with a straight blade and get rid of all the hair, we all thought we would cut open the cuts i already had and it would look worse, so

the final total on head cuts was 13 including one on the right ear.



was it worth it absolutely.

would i do it again.
yep planning to do it again next year.

i even already have a goal to beat my $1,600 for this year and hoping to hit $2,000 for next year.
