Dan, I am praying for you and your family for peace and comfort, and I'm celebrating with you for your Grandpa's wonderful and full life! Totally agree that it is never easy to lose someone, but wonderful memories make it easier to bear, and it sounds like you have a lot of wonderful memories to remember him by! So glad you got that last visit with him during your trip, and I know that one picture you posted of him and Parker will now be even more special!

I know how it feels to lose a loved one...my mom just passed away on January 29th at 64 - her's was similar to your grandfathers situation -she was in a place to get better, but her lungs started to fail and she was also placed on life support - but life support only works if the body is willing...



the last 2 months have shown to me how important family is and there are reasons that people come into your life after a loved one dies - like your grandmother moving back closer to you. We now have my father living with us and its nice to have him around 24/7 and see him spend time with my boys....

Dan, I am so sorry for your loss. It is never easy losing a loved one. I lost my dad 2-1/2 years ago and I still miss him (in fact we went to see George Strait on Saturday night and it made me think a lot about my dad because George was his favorite singer and I shed a few tears when he sang one particular song).

I am glad that grandpa is no longer in pain, and you have an added Angel looking over you, Candi, Parker and the new baby.

luckily he was here, for about a month at the end of the summer (after our trip) so we did get to see them again after we were in FL

umm, we are about 4 hours from cincy i think? i have never really mapped it out, but that sounds about right.

and the same love for trains. on sunday we played with trains the entire day, and when we were not playing with them we were watcing polar express.

he worked for conrail for 37 years as a train master.

it is true, in tragedy there is always a blessing, people just have to be able to see....it is not always prodiment, but if you look it is there.

in our case the blessing is her moving up here by us, and in your case, the same, it is great they he gets to spend time with them, and i am sure they will value that time and the memories that they share together.

i think it will also make us appreciate our parents more and the time we spend with them.

Yes. They warn you with babies not to feed them too much carrots and sweet potatoes because the carotene in them could change their skin color in excess. But I think it would take a lot, over a long period of time.
