Squirts, Shirts, and Flirts, The Legend Continues 2 weeks in FW(wrap up #2 new 11-17)

Chapter 30. Tension at the Luau.

After getting back to the trailer, we realized that we probably would not have time to take a shower so we just washed up and got dressed, and we were right, it was about 45 minutes till our dinner time. We had planned on hopping on a boat to the MK then taking a boat over to the Polynesian for dinner, but we thought that might be cutting it pretty close.

my dad offered to take us instead, and get there in half hte time.

candis sister got these outfits for us, in hawaii and sent them as a gift.
DSC02182.jpg

it actually worked out good this way as parker was still taking a nap from his adventures during the day, so nana stayed back with him.

when we got to the check in counter for luau, the girl the registered us was from a town about 30 minutes from us, so we chatted with her some.

we went outside to make our way via the signs to our destination, they took us past the pool, which was the first time we had ever seen the pool.

we really liked the view it had of the MK and said it would be fun to swim in there and check out the fireworks at night.
DSC01480.jpg

we then found the entrance trail to the luau.
once they checked us in, we were stopped to take the photo before you go to the waiting area.
DSC01483.jpg

the waiting area was nice, it was themed good, but there was not many seats, and with all the foliage around, it was not very breeze friendly on a very hot day. there was a beer cart selling drinks but you had to pay for them, and since drinks were included with our show, we waited the 20 minutes till show time before we had our beverage.
DSC01485.jpg

down a few steps from this area was a bathroom and a little desk where they had some ice water and where people were trying to change seats or add reservations or what not.
DSC01488.jpg

pretty soon we made our way to were the line was forming for seating...and we were a little nervous as to where our seats would be, on the dinning plan we had teir 2 seats, which could be on the sides on the lower area, to the back middle around the stage, so we just had to wait.

we gave our ticket to the hostest and were ushered in to our seats..to our surprise we had very good ones.
this was taken from candis seat.
DSC01489.jpg

a view from my seat.
DSC01491.jpg

so with our nervs calmed it was time to relax and enjoy our evening, we had great seats, great company and great food ahead of us and of course a show.

this is a shot of the first course, it had good bread, fresh pineapple, and some really good salad.
DSC01490.jpg

while we were starting our meal at the luau nana and papa were taking parker to the wave restraunt for there dinner. parker got a new toy story drawing pad to play with.
DSC02185.jpg

DSC02187.jpg

from the pictures i gather the little man got his own ice cream treat.
DSC02189.jpg

but i think he was more intersted in nanas than his.
DSC02191.jpg

meanwhile back at the luau, it seems that the tension of not knowing where our seats would be, turned out okay for us, but someone close to us, had tension of there own.

to be continued in the next update, to many pictures for this chapter.

working on it rightnow.

I'm back and woefully behind on everyone's threads.........
i think we had enough presents to open there.

101_1057.jpg

the kids were beyond spoiled with gifts. It's not just the quantity of presents that's impressive; it's the time, energy and diligence expended stacking them by size, layers, patterns, etc.!!!

I will leave you with a picture of what santas cookies looked like the next morning.

101_1064.jpg

Looks like you put on a little weight since the Christmas Eve pics...... :rolleyes1 Impressive haul Santa took in there! I'm guessing he LOVES coming by your house!!! You make all of those cookies for Santa??? :rotfl:

candi is pregnant.:cool1::banana::dance3::yay::woohoo:
That danged Glenn!!! I knew you could do a lot with voodoo dolls and basement shrines, but that's ridiculous!!! :confused3

Seriously, Congrats to You and Candi!!! What wonderful news!!!:woohoo:

I guess all that time running around in your skivvies finally paid off! And the best part is when you finish up your TR, you can roll right into the baby progress updates and drag this out another nine months or so!!! :lmao: You might even end up challenging Liesa for longevity! :scared1:

Great job on the choo choo toy box! Just don't go trying to paint any words on the side without using spellcheck first!!! :rotfl2:

Chapter 30. Tension at the Luau cont.

so i last left off with the others at the wave eating, and us enjoying our seats and ready to devour the salad portion of the meal.

which we did take down with ease, as you can see by the time our drinks arrived we took down the pineapple and the salad.

i also decided why limit myself to a fruity drink in the collector cup when i can have a drink for the other hand so sure waiter man bring me a beer as well.

DSC01494.jpg

when we got to the luau i noticed my camera battery was getting pretty low so i had to conserve the battery so i just turned it on to take a picture of each dance and a short 30 second video of each time they came out to do something new...it actually worked out as i got a photo of everything and a short video but then i was able to enjoy the show as well, and not have to worry about looking through a screen to watch the show for the evening.

DSC01497.jpg

now before i go on, there is a funny story, the other tension i spoke of was the family next to us.

when they were seated, the mom immediatly told the waiter that she was not happy with her seat, and wanted to move, he asked why and she informed him that it was because there was a pole in her way and she could not see the stage. he tried to asure her that the pole she was talking about only covered about a foot of the stage and the dancers would use the entire stage and it would be okay. she did not agree and asked for a manager to move them.

they said they would but it might be a while.

as you can see we had already eaten our salad portion of the meal, when they brought out the dinner portion they were still there and still had not found a spot yet, and still did not get there food yet, since they would be moving.

DSC01498.jpg

back to the food for a moment, it was awesome, the seasoning on the chicken was some of the best i have had, even better than the chicken at whispering canyone...the rice and veggies were awesome, in fact, we had our waiter bring back not seconds but thirds on the rice chicken and veggies, and the ribs were pretty good as well. most of the seconds and all of the thirds went to me.:thumbsup2

soon after our seconds came out, they invited couples up who were celebrating weddings, anniversary or just in love to dance. one of the dancers came to our table and grabbed us to come up.

DSC01507.jpg

(as u can see the family is still next to us, and the dad is not looking happy, but hungry)

who was the dancer, that got us, well the same one that took my camera from the table and said ill take care of that as well.

he took a self photo while we danced.
DSC01508.jpg

and then said that we would get some shots that most people never get close enough for...and procedded to take pictures of the other CM's on the stage while he was sitting up there.

DSC01509.jpg

this other CM on the right was giving him the look to cut it out, but it was all in fun and we were having a blast.
DSC01511.jpg

DSC01512.jpg

he even switched it over and took a few videos of us dancing and of the singing for us as well.

shortly after arriving back at our table, the family next to us had there new seats ready for them....the mom had approved of them because there was no pole in her way and she could see the entire stage...when the people around us and the waiter saw where they were going, we all laughed, this is the only decent shot i have of there new seats, it was on the second level in the back past the walkway about 40 feet farther back from where they were.
right by the pink arrow.
DSC01489-1.jpg

the waiter told us that he cant believe she thought that was a better seat but he was glad they were gone. and so were we, even though it didnt affect us having fun, it was still a little weird having them sitting there going through that.

now after they cleared away our main meal, they brought out desert, the trays were smoking when they did this.

volcano cakes.
DSC01516.jpg

our waiter was great, whenever my beer would get down to about 2 inches left, he had a cold one sitting right next to it, which helped in that heat, you can see we were a little sweaty in a few of the pics.

after desert it was time to just sit back and enjoy the show and of course drink up.

DSC01518.jpg

DSC01519.jpg

DSC01522.jpg

i did have some good video i wanted to share but it would not let me load them for some reason today.
DSC01526.jpg

it was time for some audience participation, and the once CM, came right to candi and please come with him, she did, and it was her turn to dance on stage.
DSC01529.jpg

they had about 5 other people up there as well, this was a video i wanted to share but it looks like it wont be.

she did good they had her dancing and swaying her hips, and then doing some fast dance where they would move there knees really fast and kinda hit them together, she did pretty good after he told her to loosen up and have fun with it.
DSC01531.jpg

this was another really good dance they did it had a good beat to it.
DSC01535.jpg

DSC01536.jpg

the fire dancer was good as well.
DSC01540.jpg

so did we like our first luau at disney, we did....candi has been to one in hawaii before and said the food here was 100 times better and she liked the story and the dancing just as much.

me i loved the story and dancing it was very entertaining...the food was someof the best of the trip. and having drinks included was a nice plus as well. i would def. come back and do this again, even if it meant we were not on the dinning plan and i paid out of pocket for it i would do it again.

coming up was an adventure getting to our Dis meet with glenn, but that is a story for another time and another chapter.

next, up monorail farts, special bus delivery, and glenn.:thumbsup2

actually when i came into the kitchen after we put those out, it turned out santas helper had already stopped by the plate and ate a few...not pointing fingers, but i hear the helper has a shrine in someones basement.

well i was hopping to drag it out until our hawaii trip, which i dont think i will have a problem doing, and i guess i can just continue it on after that.

got it, i will consult you before i do any spelling.

So do you suggest doing the Luau? It looks like a lot of fun. I guess I would want to do it when it is a little cooler! I can't believe how every trip there is always someone who has to have a problem.

I guess as long as they were happy with their new, but greatly inferior seats, then whatever. Odd.

I wonder if they were sorry afterwards. :lmao:

:lmao:

Anyway, lovely pix of the luau! Someday, I may consider doing that. It does look like a lot of fun!

Looks like a lot of fun at the Luau

Great pics

That volcano dessert looked good too

Looks like dancers were a lot of fun there:wizard:

Great Luau shots. It is great that you had so much fun with it.

As for the family who asked to move, serves them right.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Double fisting huh? ;)

I can't believe they went from those seats all the way to the back just because of a pole. Really? :sad2:

The food looks yummy! I've been to the luau at Royal Pacific in Universal and the one in Sea World. Both were excellent. I'll have to try Spirit of Aloha someday!

yep absolutly we would, well since our seats were so close, we were not under the fans...a bit farther back they had fans that i think kept the people cooler, we were just in a weird spot that we didnt get the breeze blowing through.

yep that part that stunk is they missed out on about 30 minutes of the food, wonder if they ever got there share before desert came out.:confused3

i think you would have fun, and i think the OOP cost is only like 60 bucks, so the average buffet dinner price between 30-35ish, and the same for the show part, not to bad if you ask me.

it was, i bet trent would like it.

and the dancers were alot of fun, they were always smiling and cracking jokes when not in on the dances.

the desert was okay, it was a different type of pudding texture i wasnt to sure about.

Great Luau shots. It is great that you had so much fun with it.

As for the family who asked to move, serves them right.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

we did have fun with it, and want to try it again when we go back, this time taking parker and the new one with us.

yep sure does, but she was happy with there new seats for some reason.:confused3 maybe it was us, she recognized me from the DIS and doesnt like me so wanted to move.

Double fisting huh? ;)

or course, double fisting, have to have a drink that is close to each hand at all times.
:thumbsup2

that was my first one, so i dont have anything to compare it too, but i would go back.

Dan

What a wonderful Christmas present for you and Candi - Congrats :lovestruc

For a side note: We loved our trip at Fort Wilderness, we rented the 5th wheel if you don't remember. I would definately do that again.

I always wanted to the Spirit of Aloha show - do you think kids would enjoy it? Mine right now are 11, 9 and 5. Probably won't go back for another 3-4 years.

the food looks awesome, yummy pineapple!

Great chapter(s) Dan!

when we got to the luau i noticed my camera battery was getting pretty low so i had to conserve the battery so i just turned it on to take a picture of each dance and a short 30 second video of each time they came out to do something new...it actually worked out as i got a photo of everything and a short video but then i was able to enjoy the show as well, and not have to worry about looking through a screen to watch the show for the evening.

I forgot about that. You had like zero battery left by the time you got to Yeehaa Bob's show.

as you can see we had already eaten our salad portion of the meal, when they brought out the dinner portion they were still there and still had not found a spot yet, and still did not get there food yet, since they would be moving.

That would've been weird eating, with them sitting there stewing.

back to the food for a moment, it was awesome, the seasoning on the chicken was some of the best i have had, even better than the chicken at whispering canyone...the rice and veggies were awesome, in fact, we had our waiter bring back not seconds but thirds on the rice chicken and veggies, and the ribs were pretty good as well. most of the seconds and all of the thirds went to me.:thumbsup2

What? Chicken even better than WCC?! Okay, I might have to try this place someday.

I'm glad you didn't let the people next to you slow you down from getting seconds and thirds. While they were there I hope you made some loud exclamations of "Oh this is sooo good! Mmmmm!" And licked your fingers with a devilish "Hee hee hee".

who was the dancer, that got us, well the same one that took my camera from the table and said ill take care of that as well.

he took a self photo while we danced.

That's awesome that he took photos for you. He got some really good ones too!

I guess the pole didn't pose any problems for you folks!

the waiter told us that he cant believe she thought that was a better seat but he was glad they were gone. and so were we, even though it didnt affect us having fun, it was still a little weird having them sitting there going through that.

I'm sure they're bad-mouthing the place right now. If they didn't pay for the best seats, I don't think they can really complain. It's the luck of the draw.

it was time for some audience participation, and the once CM, came right to candi and please come with him, she did, and it was her turn to dance on stage.

If I were him, I'd ask Candi to come up on stage too. But then Marv already knew that. ;)

coming up was an adventure getting to our Dis meet with glenn, but that is a story for another time and another chapter.

next, up monorail farts, special bus delivery, and glenn.:thumbsup2

Ooo, I can't wait for the next chapter!

very awesome, glad you liked FW, are you going to do a TR? i would be onboard for it.

i think they would, it seemed to have a good flow, there was food already on the table when you got there, which gave you something to work on, then the show started, then they took a break and right away were bringing out the main course, then more show while you ate, so the flow kept going so i think it would keep there interest.

u could have gotten more pineapple if you wanted, but we were filling up to much on the main food to ask for more.

Great chapter(s) Dan!

I forgot about that. You had like zero battery left by the time you got to Yeehaa Bob's show.
yeah i know i was able to get a few shots there but thanks for getting me your pics of the show, that was great.

That would've been weird eating, with them sitting there stewing.
it was at first then we just let it go and enjoyed our food/show/ and drinks, drinks, drinks.:thumbsup2

What? Chicken even better than WCC?! Okay, I might have to try this place someday.
well i thought so, the bites of chicken with the veggies, and rice mixed all together was great, made for the perfect bite.
i think your kids would really like the show as well.

I'm glad you didn't let the people next to you slow you down from getting seconds and thirds. While they were there I hope you made some loud exclamations of "Oh this is sooo good! Mmmmm!" And licked your fingers with a devilish "Hee hee hee".
darn it i should have thought of that, to bad you werent there with me, we could have had some fun doing that, and talked about how great and close our seats where.

That's awesome that he took photos for you. He got some really good ones too!

I guess the pole didn't pose any problems for you folks!
yes he did get some good ones.

I'm sure they're bad-mouthing the place right now. If they didn't pay for the best seats, I don't think they can really complain. It's the luck of the draw.
very true, glad we got the ones we did, i wonder on the dinning plan if you can pay to upgrade to the higher level right in front of the stage seats.

If I were him, I'd ask Candi to come up on stage too. But then Marv already knew that. ;)
im sure you would have.:rolleyes1 and i think marv is going to have a field day with this comment.

Ooo, I can't wait for the next chapter!
that farting on the monorail part, or the fact that you are in the next chapter part.
:rotfl:

Happy New Year Dan! Love your Hawaiian outfits! I'm glad you enjoyed the luau - we loved that one, and thought the food was great. :thumbsup2 I have seen some people say it was hoakey and the food was bad, so we were a little afraid to try it, but I'm glad we did. We had a table front and center, too - it was great!
