Squeezing the summer shows into 1.5 days?

Hi

We are doing a 'whistle stop' 1.5 day visit in August en route to our camping holiday. As we have annual passes we don't feel we have to be there all day we just want to make sure we see/do anything new or date-specific.

We will be leaving home really early and could be at Disney for about 4pm on Day 1 - we did this last year in October when the park shut early and we were completely wiped out, so having read that Fantallusion is on at about 11pm maybe we should head to the hotel for a nap first?

Any hints... we want to see everything that won't be available when we return in October for a 3-day break, and we don't need to do the things that we can do then, or that we did last year.

On my list are:

Fantallusion
High School musical
Candlebration?
Fireworks?

Not sure really what is available or special for the summer/15yr celebrations that we shouldn't miss.

The original plan was to leave the park around 7pm on day 2 and have an early night as we have a long drive the next day, but sounds like we may need 2 evenings to see all the shows? or are they all in the same place and we can do them all in one evening?

any help with planning gratefully accepted

Fantillusion, Candlebration and Fireworks all really follow on from each other and can all be viewed from Mainstreet area so Id suggest doing all at one time. The only problem is everyone is then leaving the park at the same time so it will be later when you get out than you expect.


High School Musical is on at Studios and runs several times a day for approx 15 mins

Thanks - thats what I hoped! We can decide on night 1 if we are too knackered, but we can try to get a couple of hours sleep in the afternoon - maybe turn up to the park around 8pm after a meal?

Do you have to queue for the High School Musical tickets like you do for the Lion King show? Have a feeling I had to be there at 10am to get tickets for the 2pm show or something like that?

From what Ive read the HSM show is outside in studios so just need to be nearby at the time. Im sure Ive also read somewhere (think it was on DLRP magic) that it lasts approx 15 mins then the cast dance to the next location where it is repeated

The High School Musical starts near the Monteurs action stunt thingy me bob

then after about 15 mins they start to move along,we didnt follow them but on the map it said it goes along down to Cinemagique.

we watched the last one ( i think?) which was 5.15pm

Sounding better by the minute - I like it when we don't have to run around getting tickets for things in advance.

Anything else 'new' that we should know about (since October 2006)?
