:sad2: Just returned from a trip to WDW and I am unhappy to report that Auntie Gravities is no longer serving soft serve with sprinkles. I know it is a small thing, but I really enjoyed the sprinkles.

When I asked why they were gone, they said Stitch was allergic to them! There is still soft serve. I can still get sprinkles at Carvel at the Orlando International Airport, but no longer at the Magic Kingdom. How much could sprinkles have cost them? After all guests who wanted them had to pay extra. First the fourth chicken tender and no this.

Otherwise I had a great trip, due to the company I was with.

DD will not like this .

She will pack some in her backpack as she likes a little ice cream with her sprinkles.

Thanks for the heads up we will add that to our grocery run

That was as slow transition. For the past few months, they've only had rainbow. I was disappointed as I'm a big chocolate ice cream, chocolate sprinkles fan...

In college I used to manage a large Ice Cream Shop.

I am guessing it is because they make a mess and they can service more people more quickly by not offering them.

So you can run him over, blow him up, light him on fire and his Kryptonite is a rainbow sprinkle?

Sounds like a bad lower level management decision that will come back and bite them if complained about enough. People have lost jobs over much less.

Hey, Dave, looks like we have something in common.

But you know, EVERYTHING in an ice cream shop makes a mess (especially the ice cream!), and sprinkles are WAY down on that list.

While its true that the less you offer the speedier your service can be, I'm not sure that's a reason to elimnate them. Apparently they charge for them, and if they charged more than a penny it more than made up for their cost both in terms of product and labor.

Sprinkles are not that messy and are VERY easy to add. They're a dry product and can be swept up/wiped off along with the regular cleanings.

I personally think they're useless, but I also don't see much of a benefit in getting rid of them since some of the lunatic fringe like Mr. Poppins seem to enjoy them and are willing to pay for them.

Next thing you know people will want water to come in their bottle of water. The nerve of some customers trying to tempt Disney with all that evil cash!

Well, you know, Sticth doesn't do well in water because of his molecular density...

Simply one more cost cutting move by some "desk jockey" or a manager more intrested in their end of year bonus, than the quality of service.
Anybody rememeber the Mickey Mouse shaped butter statues at The Land? Those too, are long gone. It a shame.

What's the bigger loss here, no sprinkles on my ice cream or the 3 minuts of my life I'll never get back by reading this stupid thread.

It must be that Disney Corporate Conspiracy rearing it's ugly head again.

I had no idea that enjoying sprinkles made one part of the lunatic fringe!
I find that remark very insulting.

Yes I remember the Mickey butter and I miss that too. However, butter is butter and cheaper butter will work on bread. The absence of sprinkles and the choice of chocolate versus rainbow or plain made the ice cream shop in Tomorrowland special and fun. Particularly if sprinkles are not often found in the part of the country you are from. Now it is just another vanilla chocolate soft serve. As exciting as going to a minimart at a gas station.

larry, speaking for myself and I'm sure for Raidermatt, don't take offense--we're on your side, just having some fun

Yeah, it was a joke. Kinda like this

Someday the people of this messageboard
will have to face thier Mickey Head Butter.
We might as well do it now.
In a way, all of us
have a Mickey Head Butter to face someday.
For some, Chicken Fingers
might be their Mickey Head Butter .
For others, a lack of sprinkles
might be their Mickey Head Butter .
For us...
Mickey Head butter is churned Cream molded in the shape of Mickey Mouse's head.

As others have said, I was just kidding about the lunatic fringe part. Just a little sarcasm, intended to be at Disney's expense actually.

Not that there's anything wrong with being a lunatic.

While no one is likely to believe me... Yesterday, we stopped for ice cream at Auntie Gravity's. I had no idea that they used to have sprinkles. But, I noticed that the line was moving very rapidly - and thought about how much faster the line moved as compared to Dino Gerties (or something like that - at the studios). I wondered if the lack of having to inquire about sprinkles, and which type was the reason. But the line did move quick, and Dino's is generally painfully slow.

I hate sprinkles anyhow. Screws up a good ice cream.

The question is, just how long would those that want sprinkles wait in line to get sprinkles over a line that is moving faster but had no sprinkles available.
