I am planning on a 7 day stay at Saratoga in March. What week should I avoid due to spring break crowds?

That's a tough question, since different areas have different dates for Spring Break. Some schools have theirs around Easter, while others have theirs before or after Easter. I think it's fair to say that probably the 2 weeks before and after Easter will probably be pretty busy. Don't let that scare you though...we've been to WDW on many Spring Breaks, and as long as you plan ahead, i.e. Fastpasses, dining reservations, you really won't be bothered by the crowds.

Be at the parks when gates open in the morning to ride the e-tickets (using fastpass when possible). Take a break around lunchtime at the pool or room. Go back in the evening for the less crowded attractractions/fireworks. Works like a charm, no matter how big the crowds.

Just make SURE to stay away the week of March 7th. Tell all your friends don't go the week of the 7th!!!!

(That's when we'll be there). :lmao:

We're going in March for our first ever spring break. Our DS's break is the week before Easter this year (it flip flops depending on WHEN Easter falls). Anyway, his last day of school is Fri. 3/26 so we're going down that Fri. nite for 6 nights, returning home on Thurs 4/1 so we will be back home before Easter. I fiddled around with the dates a little, first booked Sat 3/27 - Fri 4/2 then I realized that the higher "premier" season started on Sun 3/28 so I figured it would only get busier & busier. Now, because we're crossing seasons it was only 3 more points to drop Thurs n 4/1 & back it up a day to include Fri 3/26. I don't mind "blowing" pts. for that Fri. now because it's in "Magic" season. Then I started looking at flights & the return flights on Thurs were a lot less than on Fri. so that sort of sealed the decision. Since we're not messing up a Sat with travel time we will now have 5 full days down there.:thumbsup2

Anyway, both times when I called MS the CM's said that this week before Easter will be quite busy BUT the following week starting on Fri 4/2 would be worse. They could tell from the availability if that helps decide anything.

I went ahead & booked our return flights right then 'cuz I found a $59 fare on Air Tran. But the flights going down have all been quite high. SW JUST released their schedule this morning to May 7 so I beat the Air Tran price for going down & booked at $177 ea with all the taxes & fees. AT is still running around $230 for the one-way!! HOWEVER I was glad that I had grabbed the ret. flight on AT 'cuz the cheapest SW flight was $122!! Talk about sticker shock! We have never flown over spring break and are used to $129 round trip...this time we ended up around $250 each.

Be sure to keep checking them from time to time. I've seen them drop, and you can rebook and they'll give you the difference as a credit towards a future flight. (saved us $100 on our December trip).

Our college spring break is the 13 to the 21. We were looking at the 4/3 deal for the Poly or GF,and then realized we could cruise for less! We're now looking at a Western Caribbean out of Miami on Norwegian (DH loves the Freestyle Dining) so we won't be adding to ANY March Spring breaks!:lmao:

My Spring break is March 20 - 28 and I was going solo for the first 4 nights, so I was booked in an AKV value studio. My DSis just decided that she's going to come then, so on Sunday, I was able to move the reservation over to a studio at VWL. I was happily surprised at the availability. Maybe there are other openings that week as well.
