Spring break Aulani/Vero at 5-6 months?

We are hoping to go to Aulani or Vero Beach for spring break, the week before Easter, but this year we won't know until September or October if we will have enough time off of work to make the long journey to Aulani. So, we are going to try to book one of the resorts at the 7 month mark and then possibly try to change it later. Which would we have a better chance at getting into a studio at only 5 months out, or is neither one a realistic possibility for that?

At Aulani if you want to book either an island or standard view you could have problems as the Aulani owners frequently take advantage if these points. But with exception of June and Golden week (early May), most other dates are often available at Aulani.

Per the internet spring break for Hawaii is March 16 - 20, 2015 and the schools close for Good Friday, so local DVC members could book those dates for vacations. I expect it to be crowded on the weekends.

I cannot help you with VB as I have never stayed there. If you are a DVC member you could check out the availability tool on the MS website for both resorts. If you are a renter, I would not expect an owner to be willing to move your reservation around.

We are planning on booking a 2 bedroom island view march 13-20. So far the availability tool is showing it wide open for the whole month of march for island to ocean view with some limited availability for standard.
