I know it's really really early, but I was wondering who, if anybody in here was planning on doing the College Program in 09 for the Spring Advantage program?? I know that's when I'm going to be hopefully doing it, I finish school in late December 08, and from my understanding the arrival dates for Spring Advantage are in late January, and the enrollment is in September. It's pretty cool to think I'm less then a year away!!!

Hi there. I am planning on doing Spring 2009 too. I should be graduating in Dec, so then I would love to do Spring 2009 (and then go FT).

Yes, the dates for Spring/SA 2009 start mid Jan. Spring starts earlier (around Jan 7-15) and the SA dates start around Jan 20th or so. The period for applying should be late Sept/early Oct. Hope to see you there!

I'm pumped to say the least. I would have done it earlier, but my school runs an accelerated degree program (we practically go year round, so we get our bachelor's in 3 years as opposed to 4, and associates in 18 months), so I gotta sit it out till after I complete school. I'm planning on going full time as well after I complete the college internship, Disney is such a broad company with endless possibilities to go.

That's ok. As my Disney friends have told me (many times, I must say:rotfl: ), Disney won't go anywhere (even so, that doesn't make me feel better, as I want to be there with them).

What roles are you looking to do down there?

My first choice would be attractions I really would love working on the Indiana Jones Stunt show, second choice down I'd have to say would be character attendant, and third would be merchandise (merchandise is really a fall back for me, I work in retail now and I'm really trying to avoid another retail job, but the fact remains I'm good at it and if that's all they have open I'll take it).

That's cool. My choices are performer, character attendant (since I am still seasonal there), and if need be attractions. But I hope to get entertainment again.

If i dont get accepted for the Fall Advantage 2008 then i will apply again later for the Spring of 09!

That's great! But I'm sure you will get accepted.:)

What exactly does the character attendant job entail? The reason it's attractive to me is because I know you get to work in all four parks, but outside of regulating the line for the characters I'm not too sure of what other duties the job includes.

Yep. You keep the character's line orderly, you may help with taking photos for guests (especially if there is no PhotoPass), you assist the character, you answer questions. It's a lot of fun.

Hey don't sweat it, you're not the only one who's gonna do Spring Advantage '09, I have to wait until Spring '10 to do my first CP.

But I just think of it as the more time I have to look forward to it...

Yeah, I almost did Spring '08 this year, but the more I thought about it I was like well I'd rather finish up my degree first and apply right before I graduate. On top of that I had bills to pay off and stuff. But I feel your pain man, I've had my sights set on this since early '07.

well I guess having to wait a while will let us enjoy it more. I can't wait for mine - it sucks I have to wait almost 2 years.

edit> I created a CP ticker!
Only 18 months until I get to apply for Spring '10!

:( :( :(

I see.:)

Don't worry, I am sure that you will.

Bump Just wanted to bump this thread up I was hoping to get to know some ppl who are planning on going spring of '09. :thumbsup2 Since that's when I want to go!!

I was torn between regular spring 09 and advantage 09, but I talked it over with my parents last night, and I'm going to go for advantage!!!

I'm SOOOOOO excited:)

Question about the interview, though.

My top 3 selections would be (in no order), hospitality, character attendant and merchandise... can i tell the interviewer that I don't have a preference or will they make me pick from those 3? I have worked a little bit of everything in a hotel for a year now, and while I would love to work for a Disney hotel, I would love to do something ELSE while I'm down there. I think doing the character attendant would be so much fun:)

Also, I'm a little worried about my acceptance. When i first started college I was mad that my parents made me go to where I did.... and it showed because I failed almost all of my classes, which made my GPA plummet (i'm talking like a 1.3.... OUCH! I've been busting my rear since then to get it back up, and it's currently at a 2.6... I havent gotten anything lower than a B the last 2 years. Will my 2.6 hinder my chances at all of getting in?

Thanks in advance:) So excited for spring 09:)

Oh, and someone should make a facebook group for spring 09 people... I know we haven't even started to apply yet... but it wouldn't hurt getting to know people:)

I'll make one, if someone wants me to! Or, is there already one made?
