Sprained Ankle

We are headed to Disney in one week and of course I had to go and sprain my ankle. Am I able to rent a wheelchair just for the day and leave it in stroller parking while I walk onto the ride. The doctor said I can walk on it, I am just super slow....
I am not sure what this GAC is that you all talk about but I don't think I need one....can someone clue me in on the abbreviation...

If you go to the disABILITIES FAQs thread, you will find everything you are looking for. There is information on renting wheelchairs, both in the parks and from off-site places.
You don't need anything special to rent a wheelchair, they are rented from the same place as you rent strollers. Even though you can walk, you might still want to use the wheelchair in many lines. Some (like Soarin' and Bug's Life) are really a long distance to walk. Some have moving walkways that you want to board at a place where they can slow or stop the walkway if you need. There is a link in the disABILITIES FAQs thread in post #3 about boarding rides with moving walkways.

There is also information in the disABILITIES FAQs thread about GACs (Guest Assistance Cards) that should answer your questions. If you are using the wheelchair in lines, you should not need a GAC at all. If you plan to walk in lines, a GAC that allows you to use the wheelchair entrances, you will be able to avoid stairs and things like moving walkways. It's important to be aware that the GAC will not shorten the distance you walk and will usually not shorten your wait in line.
