What do you get for your spouse/SO? I'm already looking at a DVd for DBF(Gone in sixty Seconds since we have a story with that movie)

We are getting to the stage where we really don't want much! We usually get each other a couple of surprises but we might just get something we both want ( new tv furniture, whatever)

We have been looking at metal detectors so who knows! LOL

for our anniversary on saturday, we are getting something for the house. we've been doing this pretty much every year since we've been married, and try to tie in the traditional theme. This year is year 6, traditionally iron, so we are finally buying a headboard for our bed! The first anniversary was paper and we kind of cheated and convinced ourselves that our trip to WDW was kind of paper...lots of money went into it, lots of paperwork at the resort, etc. :)

For christmas we are usually frugal, mainly because we have bought 3 different houses in 2 years due to moves...seems like we are always saving for a house! LOL! Some years we've only stuffed stockings for each other, this year I plan to spend a little more and do the stocking, maybe a couple of other things.

We do the same momsal. Right now we are re-doing our kitchen so that is our "present". Plus in December I am going to Disney with my cousin and he is staying home with our daughter, so I figure that's a nice present, lol. Honestly, since we had our daughter, we'd rather spend the money on her. If there is something I (or he) really wants, we just buy it.

This year, my DH hasn't been as hard to shop for as in other years. From the kids, I got him a beach cart so he can pull our stuff to the beach instead of all of us carrying parts of it. We usually covet other people's when we see them. They also got him a miniature Steinbach nutcracker of Grandfather Frost (Russian Santa.) I'll probably buy him a new suit since that's what he's been hinting about.

I like mtemm's anniversary idea. Ours has a different twist, though. We only buy presents every 5th year, but we go out for a nice dinner every year. At 5 years, I got diamond earrings that I wear every day. He got new Callaway clubs, that he's already traded up. For 10 years, next April, I'm getting a diamond anniversary band. He hasn't decided what he wants yet.

I bought my DH a signed Daniel Moore painting and will have it framed. I also bought him a new golf bag and our DS got him a DVD. I can't think of anything else, so I guess that's it. I always want to get something for our house, but DH refuses saying Christmas, Anniversaries, etc are for personal gifts, not for the house. I still MAKE him give me stuff for the house though sometimes. He got me a George Forman grill last Christmas for one of my gifts and I REALLY wanted that.
