First of all, the dining plan is based on the number of NIGHTS you are staying so in your case it would be for 4 nights.
If you want the deluxe dining plan (DxDDP) and the basic dining plan (DDP) during the same trip you would have to book 2 separate packages. Each package would require 1 day tickets for everyone in the room for paid dining. Also, all of the credits from the first package would expire at 11:59 PM on the day you check out from the first stay.
Two exceptions to the above:
-If you are DVC staying on points you could segment your reservation between DxDDP and DDP.
-Or, if you have an AP or staying with military tickets you could book ticketless packages, but you would still need to book 2 packages.
We just checked out of Kidani, after a short two night stay. We had the DDP the first night since we had a reservation at Boma, then the QSDP for the second. It was awesome and fitted our needs perfectly.

Only on a DVC reservation booked as segments. To do this on any reservation other than a DVC, you would have to have two separate package reservations. And the dining plan goes by nights, not days, so you would have to book deluxe for 2 nights and basic for 2 nights.
