Splitting Reservations and Dining options?

We usually stay at more than one resort, however it is my understanding that to use the dining plan we would have to get two different packages and not be able to just keep the SAME dining plan for our entire stay??? I wonder why they don't let you take this option with you. It is cheaper to purchase the longer stay tickets! I don't want to purchase park hoppers for five days and then turn around purchase seperate hoppers for our other resort.

What a pain! I guess we could stay at only one resort this time if we decide to do the dining plan. I'm thinking of just getting an AP and going with that rate for my room and eating off property for part of the time. I don't know really what to do. We will be staying for at least ten days, maybe 14 soooo I wonder which is the best way to go. *gets out calculator* LOL. :confused3 :p

Have any of you changed your ressies from a split stay because of this dining plan thing? I'd sure be miffed to miss a chance to experience another resort OR miss out on the dining plan. It's a tough choice. I want both!! Waaaaa waaa waaaa!! *stamps foot!*

What are your opinions on the best way to go with this???

You can still stay at two resorts--we are doing Pop and AKL for our August trip. All we did was book 10 day tickets (park hopper and water park option)on our first package (even though our reservation was only for 7 days) and we booked a one day base ticket on the second package (again we are staying 7 days). That way, we can get the free dining for 14 days and have 11 days of tickets, which is exactly what we need. Since we have the water park and hopper on the 10 day tickets, we may not even need the 1 day ticket this trip. Then we can save it for the next trip. You may want to look at this option. :)

Hmmm sorry to be dim but, how did you get free dining for 14 days out of 11 days of tickets?? I thought it was day for day? LOL sorry to be dumb!!

Anyway!! :Pinkbounc YEAH!! this adding on the one day ticket sounds like a good idea! :D Will do!

Hi There

Firstly packages with the dining plan can only be booked for a maximum of 10 nights. We have the premium annual passes, so didnt need tickets. However with the packages, you need a minimum of a one day ticket. Our reservation for September is 15 nights and had to be split up altho we are staying at the same resort. We purchased the one day MYW tickets with our package. We are using our one day tickets towards the purchase of our next annual passes. Hope this helps. Good luck. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Yes it does Princess Eeyore! Thank you! :D

I was wondering the same thing because we've never stayed at a deluxe before and don't have the funds to do so for our whole trip. I looked into doing 2 separate dining pkgs with a 1 day ticket on the second half of the trip or possibly doing 5 nights with dining and 8 day pass at a mod and doing room only with CAA discount for the last 3 nights at a deluxe. The dining would go until midnight on our first night of room only and we would end up paying oop for the last 2 days. Does any of this seem logical or more trouble than it's worth?

Thanks Michelle! You are asking the same questions I'm wondering about too. We can't do a deluxe for the whole trip either, unless MAYBE we get a deal at the "Dolphin" but even still I want to try more than one resort this trip.

I DO wish they would tie this dining thing to your entire stay and let you buy passes that are for the entire stay....I wanted to get an PAP and use that but, I'm still weighing what is more cost effective for a 14 day trip. I guess just add on the one day passes. Seems kind of a pain in the patootie doing things this way if you want to split your ressies. But oh well! LOL! It will all seem fine once we are there!

The dining plan is connected to the number of nights you stay, not the number of days your tickets are for. You can stay for 7 nights and just buy tickets for one day and get 7 days of free dining. It is a bit of a pain to get two packages, but worth it to stay deluxe for a week. :)
