split WDW and US stay

we are thinking about adding two days of US/IOA to our disney vacation next year. We have never been and our DD's 20 and 23 have always wanted to go. My question is, if we stay at Loew's Royal Pacific or at the Cabana Bay Beach Resort, how far is it actually to either park? I have read that the resorts are with in walking distance, is that true? About how long of a walk? Just curious as to weather we could walk back to the resort and eat lunch in the room.

It is about a 7 minute walk from RPR to the IOA gate (walking at a good pace). Cabana bay is going to be further than that. It is still being built, so it is tough to tell where the walking route will be. Remember that with Cabana Bay, you get early admission but not the unlimited express pass like you do with the deluxe onsite hotels (the other three).

Since your children are both adults, I would say you could easily walk back for lunch. But are you sure you want to give up express passes if you choose Cabana Bay?
