Split up BLT add-on contract

with BLT the guides have to get special permission to split at all - how do I know when wanted two 60 point contracts not 120 - got told by my guide she would have to check.

at that time BLT was only to be sold in 100 points period. but thank goodness they changed that rule, too.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
Splitting contracts during a purchase has never been offered by DVD before. The first reports of splitting was about a month ago. Obviously DVD is hungry to make sales and there is no way to tell if they will continue to allow splits.

New member (finally!!) here. They let me split my contract into 100 points each at BLT and AKV, but wouldn't let me do 2 50 point contracts at each. No real biggie, just thought it would be easier if we ever wanted/needed to sell.

I just went through this with my VGV add ons. I came to the conclusion that 25 point contracts are a waste.

After all... Who buying resale wants to pay $300 in closing costs on a contract that gets you one night in a studio during low season?
If someone wants 50 points, they would have to pay double closing costs. That could add $12 per point to the price.

That said, I wound up with a couple 25 pointers. I didn't figure it out in time..

I totally get your point MG....but otoh, I have read many times over that it is those small 25 and 50 point contracts that go so quickly on the resale market. Often times they never even make the online listing because there is a waiting list for them. So it does get confusing as to what to do and how or if to split a contract.

That's true, but 25 points at the earlier resorts goes a lot further than BLT or VGC. I wonder if a 25 pointer at the later resorts will have the same selling power as the earlier resorts??

Anyway, congrats on your BLT add-on!

I guess time will tell with the selling power as I hear what you're saying. I'm thinking BLT will become a little more valuable/desirable (as far as 25 or 50 point contracts go), down the line when it's sold out ? But who knows ? I didn't split my contract hoping to sell honestly. I did it for other reasons and the selling part was just a "in case" sort of thing.

Thanks for the congrats MG :)

25 points at BLT still gets you a standard view studio for 5 nights with banking and borrowing in the three lower cost seasons. And in the two lower cost seasons it gets you a lake view studio for 5 nights so I think there's still value and appeal with a 25 pt contract - even at BLT. I can imagine a few types of buyers this would be of interest to.

And if you look only at the Standard view the point cost is exactly the same in those seasons for studios at VWL, BCV, BWV (pref) and SSR so the length of stay value is the same as some of the older resorts.

You could even get the MK view in Adventure and Choice season for 4 nights with banking/borrowing.

Well that makes sense... I guess I didn't take a good enough look at the BLT charts.
They seem a bit more friendly than VGC...

they are about what I expected - except the MK - that is more points. Although with the latest update - those points changed the least.
