I'm trying to figure out how long it might take me to finish a half and the marathon. It's asking me to calculate using a split time. How do I figure that out? Is it the total time it took me to run the 10k? Or am I looking for a different number?

thanks Maura.

The calulation I orginially used on Runners World asked me for a split time on a race. When I put in what I thought was a split time it showed that I would finish at 25 minutes faster. So I don't know what a split time is.

This calculator gave me a time that looked more "accurate".

Here is a caluclator that I love from Coach Jenny Hadfield's site:

It takes into account that for most people, the farther you go, the slower your pacing will be.

I know there are excpetions, but trust me Was my face red in a seminar with Dave McGovern when I innocently asked for clarification when he was explaining how your mile pace will differ race distance. He was very nice, but it was one of those lightbulb moments for me about why I wasn't hitting my goal pace for every distance - I had the SAME goal pace for every distance :rolleyes1

Talk about newbie misconception :rotfl2:
