How complicated is it to have a reservation with free dining and then add a room only reservation for 2 days at the end of the vacation? The dining plan will end at midnight the day you check out but what if your checking back in with a new reservation? Also what are the chances you can stay in the same room? Wanted to add another day or two to our existing reservation but there is no availability so thinking about just adding a room only reservation. One more question what about magical express will that make it too complicated?

We've done 5 split stays now and don't find them complicated at all.

Doesn't make a difference.

Also what are the chances you can stay in the same room?

If you've booked the same room category for both your chances are extremely good. If different room categories your chances are very slim.

Not at all. When you make your Magical Express reservation just make it for the last day.

1. Complicated? Not really. We've done split stays and have not had any problems.

2. Dining Plan. It will expire at 11:59 PM on the day you check out of your first (package) reservation.

3. Room. If you book the exact same room category, let the castmember at the front desk know that you have a continuing reservation when you check in for the first reservation and ask to remain in the same room. As much as possible they will try to keep you in the same room. You will have to go to the front desk to check in for the second reservation. If the reservations are for two different room categories you will have to change rooms. You can pack your things and leave them at bell services on the check out/in day until your new room is ready.

4. Give DME the info for your arrival date and your departure date. However, we've gotten two sets of ME information, one for each reservation since Disney considers them to be two separate reservations and not a split stay. Use the arrival info on the first set and the departure info should match the departure date on the second set.

You will have to book ADRS at 180+10 for each reservation, so something to keep in mind with splits.

The only real issue we've encountered involved the DDP on a second reservation, however, that doesn't appear to apply here.
