Split stays and ADRs question

I am going with friends down for the F&W festival the first weekend of the festival. I am considering going down for 4 or 5 days ahead of them to visit freinds who live in Orlando and do some of the things I alway want to and somehow never seem to get to. Can I make ADRs for my entire trip at MY 90+10 mark or do I have to wait until the 90+10 for the second half of the trip? There will be no breakin my stay, but it is two reservations, so I don't know how they look at it. Thanks,

Karen

We have a split-stay for our upcoming August trip. We have 2 nights at POR followed by 7 nights at BC. There is no break between our stays. We were unable to book all our ADR's at 90+10. We were very frustrated by this. They treat it as separate reservations and we were told they can't link them under the new ADR system. We called guest services twice and tried a few different CM's with no luck. I hope you have better luck! I personally think it's a terrible policy to be punished for staying at 2 different resorts, all Disney mind you!, so that you can't make your ADR's like everyone else.:sad2:

I was afraid of that...that makes things a bit complicated doesn't it? I guess I may have to re-think my plans.....

This has been discussed before and the problem is that the new system sees the check-in and check-out date for the first stay so it won't allow any ADRs past the first stay check-out date. Unfortunately you will have to call at the 90 day mark for the start of your second stay and will be able to book the rest of your ADRs. :thumbsup2

that makes a ressie at that much desired restaurant like leCellier or CG for myself & my friends difficult since we only have a 5 day stay, during free dining, during F&W. It's like the trifecta of ADR nightmares!:scared1:

I'm the other side. I have a split stay in July and a split stay in August and I had no problem booking all of my ADRs on based on the first resort checkin and did not have to call twice. Actually my August reservation was from the 13th to the 21th and made all of them on the 90+10 on the August 13th checkin. I didn't tell them I had a split stay and they didn't ask. I called the regular dining number even though I'm DVC.

I think you were either very lucky or you called just before they implemented the new ADR system. We didn't tell them we had a split-stay either but the system recognizes you as checking out so it won't allow you to book past that date. Believe me we tried and tried at our 90+10 date and could not do it, no way no how! They even agreed with us that we should be able to do it seeing as we are staying on property the whole stay. We also have not experienced this problem on previous split-stays. This new ADR system though seems to be the problem. Since it's Free Dining it also makes getting the already hard to get ADR's near impossible since you have to wait while people without a split-stay are booking "your" week. Very frustrating!:headache:

I must have gotten lucky too. :thumbsup2 We check in 8/20 for a split 10 day stay and I was able to make all of my ADR's on my 90 day mark. I actually called three times on that day. The first call, I was able to make reservations for 8/20 - 8/29 for varying numbers of people in the party, 5 some reservations, 7 in others and 11 in a few as well. The CM never asked for a check out date. When I called back later in the day to add a couple of ADR's to the beginning of the vacation, the CM stated the check-in date and check-out date of my first reservation. So maybe I snuck in before the new system too. Even though I was able to do this, still didn't get everything we wanted. Ahhh well!

I was able to make all of my ADR's for my split stay, last Friday. It took two phone calls because the first person wouldn't let me do it. So I say, call and call again.

See OP, you never know. When I made mine and got to the last day, the CM said let me adjust the dates and said "next". I made 10 days worth of ADRs.

The new system definitely started before I made my ADRs on 5/15 so some of the previous posters were just lucky. Two different CMs I spoke to would not make any ADRs past the check out date of our first reservation. I then spoke to someone in Guest Services and they were able to help me out and make all my reservations for our entire stay. So if one CM won't help you call back or try Guest Services.

Since the new system asks for your reservation number it automatically knows your check out date -- believe me, I did not volunteer the fact that I had a split stay. Seems some CMs were making all ADRs even with a split stay and some were not, saying the system would not allow them to -- this is confusing because just a half hour later I was able to make all my ADRs, same system, different CM. Good luck and keep trying back if you're not successful at first.:goodvibes

I'm glad some of you have had luck with booking your ADR's with split-stays. I must say though that it's VERY frustrating that they don't just fix this problem so everyone that has split-stays gets to make their ADR's at 90+10. We called 4 different times and spoke to guest services twice with no luck. You should not have to jump through hoops just to get your ADR's and they should be consistent. Good Luck to everyone!! I hope you all get to make your ADR's!:thumbsup2

I will see how it goes in a few days when it's my turn to make the ADRs. I'm guessing like all things in the Disney ADR world, persistance will pay off!:thumbsup2
