Looking ahead to our 2nd trip (welcome home trip this November) we are going to pull then DD8 and DD4 out of school for a week in September. The plan is to book CCV 2 bedroom for 7 nights at 11 months and then try to switch to BCV 2 bedroom at 7 months. Is 8 and 4 a good age for Stormalong Bay?

Also, since its September and we probably wont pull them out again in the future those weeks, should we splurge on the last night and get the CCV Cabin for one night? With our limited points I would have to "buy" 4 points from Disney to make it work. Is it worth it for one night to experience it?

Thank You

SAB can be rough on parents of little ones. It's not relaxing pool time unless you restrict them to the area with the sand bottom. Kids do enjoy digging in the sand though. The lazy river current is swift and it's deep in some parts.. Are the kids good swimmers? The entrance to the slide is outside of the pool fence and sight lines are poor. The 8 yo might be okay but the 4 yo?

As far as the Cascade Cabin is concerned, well that depends. How much time will you be spending there on your last night? You probably won't get into the cabin until after 4 PM and you'll be out at 11 AM the next day. If you're spending time in a park on that last night, it really doesn't give you much time to enjoy the cabin. That's a lot of points for very little time.

My kids are exactly that age. We stayed at Beach Club this past April. They loved SAB. HOWEVER, we had to be next to them every second and the younger one had the life vest. They do not know how to swim. The older one can "sort of" swim and float. Their only pool experiences are at Disney.

They were in love with the place, but like stated above, you will be working the whole time. The lazy river looked cool, but it was small and there were no floats available. Therefore, we never got to use it. We tried stalking and waiting for someone to leave, but it never happened.

I would not "waste" points for 1 night at a cabin. That's personal preference. The 2-bedroom at CCV (I stayed there in 2019) is beautiful. If I were to stay at a cabin, I would want to be there for a few nights to truly enjoy it.

I own at CCV and I am biased. The whole place is beautiful. I know the pools are just "regular," but they have been sufficient for us and the kids splash area would be fun for the 4-year-old. We also LOVE the boat to MK. Just depends on your plans and your style. I personally feel that Wilderness Lodge has better food options than BC. Geyser Point is great and it's quick service. Feels more than that and food is better.

As others have said, you will be watching your kids the whole time at SAB. I also wouldn't use all those points for a cabin for 1 night.

You’ve gotten plenty of answers, but I’ll add one more because we have just done most of what you asked.

Our daughters are 5 and 10, we love BCV mostly for SAB. We were just there in late April into May, if your kids are like ours they can dig and play in the sand for hours without much oversight other than finding chairs or a table surrounding that pool so we can always have eyes on them. SAB in some ways is the best pool on property, but in other ways it’s the worst pool on property. A slide and kids pool that requires you to have to leave the fenced area was an extremely poor design. I know many parents let their kids cross the walking path on their own, we aren’t one of those. They love the slide too, but I always have to go with them. First or second time is fine, the tenth time gets a little old for me. Disney really should build a bridge over the walking path to avoid having to leave the fenced area. There are many other good pools that have slides within their fenced areas that are better secured for smaller children.

As for the one night stay in a cabin, like others have said, I’d avoid that. We just did our first split stay at two resorts, one night in each. We were able to get two previews for GotG back to back, one night in a Kidani 1Br and one night in a studio at CCV was all we were able to piece together. The hassle of moving rooms aside, unless you plan to just spend the time at the cabin from check in to checkout, you really don’t get to enjoy the resort or room much at all. The only thing we got out of CCV in one night was enough to convince us we’d like to try it for a longer stay in the future. So, like I said, unless you skip doing the parks for that night, I wouldn’t do it unless its for at least 2 nights.

Thank you! We own at CCV also and plan on doing a 2BR as a full visit many times during the holidays. We fell in love with the resort last time we visited for dinner.
