ok so we have a split stay for an upcoming trip. I am beginning to find out that for things such as BOG fast pass the system only recognizes the first part of the stay. Will this happen when we book our FP+ in the future too? Why are DVC reservations handles so differently than Disneys regular system? Is it an intention to be confusing and difficult by nature?

IMO DVC gets the free or discounted Disney software. They don't have the budget or want to spend on improvements.

Disney, like all businesses puts their money where it gives them the largest return. DVC is so small that they aren't high on the list.

The system works the same for paid/cash split stays. DVC isn't singled out in this case.

Shouldn't be a problem for FP+. I've been told that the system only looks to see if you have an on-site reservation. Length doesn't matter. Then you are allowed to make FP+ reservations for the number of days on your ticket at 60 days.

I had a split stay in May, no problems. Sunday to Wednesday night at VGF, Thursday to Sunday nights at WL (non-DVC). Made fastpasses for the whole trip at 60 days. Got a BOG fastpass for Wednesday.

The only thing that is important is to go to the front desk to be sure that you are checked out of the first hotel. We did and didn't have any problems when we got to WL. We used the same magic bands for both hotels.

If you link your reservations though the new system you can not check into the now villa until you have checked out of the old one. This is true for both DVC and CRO.

One more convenience we have lost.

The big issue is when you have dining plan on the second reservation and have an early morning reservation on the 2nd half of your stay the day you switch over. You have no way to use dining plan without checking in.

It has been squawked, but since DVC is the majority of the split stays you know where we stand on the priority list to fix it.

I think next time I may just set up 2 MDE accounts to see if there is a way to do this cleanly (all CMs shudder when you mention doing this)

Okay. We will be doing a split stay later this week. If we check out of the first reservation, and check into the second, won't we lose the remaining meal credits we have from the first stay? We were hoping to use the snacks the last day.

Dining plans work different. All credits have to be used by the end of checkout day of the reservation it is connected to.

You won't lose, ask for a print out of your DDP entitlements before you check out from your first resort. Give the printout to the front desk when you check in at the 2nd resort. If the entitlements don't carry forward, they will manually adjust it.

Great idea. Thanks.

We will be checking into the 2nd part of our split stay, AKV Jambo, then GFV, early. Have Fantasmic Package Lunch at Hollywood Brown Derby which will take 2 TS credits, so by checking in early, HOPING that we will have NO PROBLEMS!

CAN'T WAIT! :thumbsup2:santa:

Sorry if this has been asked...but if you have a split stay, the fastpass for BOG lunch will only be offered to the first stay and not the second? Crap! We were definitely hoping to make the FP reservation for the second part of the stay...what can I do?
